This is the first time I've been on this site in - well - years.. Thank you for your friendly comments. I have moved from Spring Hill to Wesley Chapel and there are several nice quilt shops in the Tampa Area.  Dade City has an especially nice one. If you go plan to stay the day and visit all the antique shops.  Nice tea room in Dade City too.

Happy Birthday!  Hope you've had a great day.  Fall is a busy time of year for us, so the cattle work is starting to gear up.  DS has been in Montana for the bulk of the summer and working for a horse trainer the rest of the time.  We haven't seen him much this summer and school starts Monday for him.  DD graduated from college in May and is living on her own - has a great job and is engaged to her high school sweetheart.  They've dated for the past 5 years, so she should be sure by now. :)  There is a wedding quilt in the works just as soon as I finish up a graduation quilt for my niece, but the wedding deadline isn't until June. Hope this finds you & yours doing well.

Hi Christine.  Well it seems like I fell off the face of the earth also.  Things have been a little crazy here also, although we aren't dealing with all the weather problems.  My heart goes out to all who have been affected by the rains, floods, tornados (sp??)  Luckily all we have had to deal with is some very hot weather and rain.  It's either feast or famine.  Glad to hear that your fall wasn't as serious as it could have been.  Never food with a knock on the head.  Mid May my quilting buddy and I did the local shop hop and is held each year.  We did 11 shops in 3 days.  What fun and we traveled over 450 miles -- from Kingston north to Glens Falls and from Gloversville east to Lee, MA.  We had a great time and spent more than we should have but since we haven't done it in quite a few years, i don't feel the least guilty.  Also the first week in June was by DD's baby shower.  It was just wonderful.  Posted a pic of the baby's quilt on my page -- Teagan's Quilt.  Stay well and talk to you soon, Judy

Hi Christine.  Hope all is well with you and yours with all the flooding.  Haven't heard from you so I  was just checking in.  Hopefully, it's something as simple as problems withthe computer.  Thinking of you.  Judy

Hi Christine.  I've just been kind of poking my head in briefly and then back our over the last couple to weeks.  It's been a very tough time for my family.  4/25 my uncle passed away after a long illness and on 5/4 my DSIL passed away after a long battle with a very insidious form of Parkinsons.  Then at 6 this a.m. I get a call that another of my uncles has been rushed to the hospital.  My one sister is there now and I'll head over shortly.  However I did have a peaceful Mother's Day.  My daughter who is going to be a first time mother in July brought over bagels and we had a small breakfast and then a little later my sisters and I along with our mother had a nice brunch and then I had a quiet afternoon.

Sorry about your trip to Paducah.  I was aware of the problem following them on Facebook.  More $$ to spend next year or on your trip at the end of the month.  The flooding all around has been awful.  Nothing to compare with what the middle of the country is dealing with.  Talk to you soon.  Judy

Hi Christine.  Hope that you and your family had a wonderful Easter.  It has done nothing but rain here for the past 10 days or so.  However, it is just rain and not the bad weather everyone else is getting.  Hopefully, you are all packed and ready to go to Paducah.  Can't wait to hear how it was.  Have a terrific time and don't spend all your money in one place :-)

Is there room in your suitcase for me when you go to Paducah.  That has been my dream for a very long time.  Up until last year there was never a national quilt show in the northeast.  My quilting buddy and I went to the AQS show in Lancaster last year.  it was absolutely overwhelming.  I was very good and didn't spend my life savings.  However, we were overcome at the beauty of all the quilts.  But as you say, the vendors are beyond whatever we are able to see locally.  Maybe next year.  ENJOY!!!

More snow?

Posted on February 9, 2010 at 1:34pm 2 Comments

No, it stopped earlier in the a.m. However, it's been so windy this afternoon that what settled on the trees, shrubs and roofs is blowing around and now looks just like a blizzard - all over again. DH plowed out our 500 ft driveway, then went across the road and cleared out DD & DSIL's 150 ft driveway. It's so pretty, the fields, the barn covered, etc., but I know when the it gets dark, the roads are going to be a mess tonight. Keep safe everyone, pets included!

Strange Fabric Request

Posted on November 9, 2009 at 1:36pm 9 Comments

I have an almost going on 3 GD that is enthralled with - of all things - porcupines! Uh huh, porcupines. DD & DSIL have taken GD to the Nashville Zoo & the St Louis Zoo at least 5 times in the last 2 yrs. She loves the rodent! DD goes to UTube and GD sits and watches the postings of porcupines there. I've searched but only have found hedge hogs on fabrics. Would anyone know where I could purchase fabric with porcupines on it. I've even searched under the words "woodland creatures" but… Continue
