About Me
For many years I have longed to quilt but ran a Bed and Breakfast instead. My husband and I sold it 4 years ago and I have been quilting ever since. I am addicted to color and the feel of fabric. My stash is growing phenomenally.
I was born in Lodz, Poland. My parents and I fled our home in 1945. Then lived in Germany for 8 years before immigrating to Canada in 1953.
For many years I painted and now I am trying to create with fabric.
My first love was music. I still am asked to sing at special women's functions. I also do public speaking at some of these functions.
Most of my spare time is spent quilting.
Hobbies and Interests

I love all the comments. I particularly love the one which tells me how joyful you are because you are a child of God. I needed to be reminded of that.
This is the first time I am adding a blog of my own and would love to add some pictures but am somewhat computer challenged. As soon as I learn how, I will add the pics.

Yes it is. The Quilted Bear in Ladner puts on the retreat twice a year (Feb and April) My girl friend from Victoria and I have been going for the past 5 years (ever since I moved). It gives us a chance to see each other. The quilting room is open from 12 Friday to 6 Sunday so we can even quilt in our jammies in the middle of the night! Of course the hot springs and spa and a nice extra too.

That sounds like fun. Since I moved to Kamloops I haven't quilted in any group. The guilds are all large and political which doesn't interest me. Since I live about 1/2 hour outside of town and work all day I don't get much chance to take classes either. I miss the fun of group events, but I do go to a quilt retreat once a year in Harrison. It is loads of fun.

Hi Christa,

Is it raining yet? We are lucky where we live, as we are part of the regional district and not the city our road maintaince is contracted out. The main road into Kamloops (the only road) is also a school bus route so it is kept pretty clear. The only problem is getting the km or so from my house to where the plowing starts. Hence I drive a truck with 4 wheel drive and studded snow tires.

What do you do at the fire station? Is it a guild?

I love scrappy quilts....you don't have to think too much about colour.

Well, I so seem to have animals everywhere. If you checked my profile I have more than I mentioned in my post. Certainly makes live interesting if not furry.

You live in a nice area.....my daughter lives in Duncan and works in Chemanius and my parents used to live in Ladysmith.

I think up to this point you have more snow than we do.....I see by the news that you are getting more! It is snowing here right now but just a bit. I don't mind the snow but I do get tired of bundling up....I've never had to wear so many layers.

What are you working on now? I'm doing a wall handing that is a combination of hand embroidery and piecing.

Hi Christa

What part of VI do you live in? I was raised in Victoria and lived there until 5 years ago when I moved just outside of Kamloops.

Love your choice of pets....I have 2 standard poodles, 1 miniature and 4 siamese cats.
