Hi everyone,, I haven't blogged in a few days, I've been busy, had alot of things to get caught up on around the house. I went to Joanns yesterday they had all of their handbag supplies on sale. I picked up some handles, magnetic clasps, and some cute fringe. I have some nice upholstery fabrics I want to use, I think it will make a very nice handbag. My new favorite thing to do!! Hope everyone has a lovely day!!!!!! Cindy

We have had snow on and off for two days! It started Sat. night straight on till this morning. Thankfully it only added up to about eight - ten inches in some areas. Looks pretty, but by now we're getting a little tired of it. I haven't gotten much sewing done lately, I think I'm in a winter slump. I get this way alot of the time, I have my ups and downs. I think winter is more downs. So I have to give myself a good swift kick and get out of it!! I have alot of things I want to get done. My… Continue

Greeting from Maine Cindy...it is a cold one this morning...3 degrees ..but sun is shining and that makes a big difference....Have a wonderful birthday celebration today doing those things that bring JOY to your heart...I enjoyed looking at your work...I have so many UFO's going...I am determined to finish them this year..blessing to you...stay warm..you must have had a lot of snow in the last storm according to the weather...we had 14 1/2" but thankfully we are in the country and my husband has tractors to plow us out...we have about 20 head of cattle....well enough of that...have a great day!!

Morning Cindy, We are in the same boat! I wish it would sail bye already, I need to get off!! Yes, I went thru the change and it really think that's when I started to put the weight on. I did go downstairs and walk 2 miles this morning. I wish I could walk outside but we're having an ice/snow storm. The day will come when I can walk outside again. I'm really downing the water. I would love to work with you on your daughter's quilt! Wow - tackling a double wedding ring is ambitious on your part! Here is an idea how I charge: for an edge-to-edge pattern .015 cents per square inch - for custom it is .02 cents, or maybe more if you want dense quilting. So, if you want something simple in the centers, and some leaves, etc in the borders, it would be the .02 price. If you want something more special, or feathers with outlining, defined borders, etc., it would be more like .03 cents. (measure length and width and multiply those two numbers, the answer you get for that is multiplied by the price. There is also tax here in Iowa on services, and I'd ask you to pay return shipping.) If you want to send your own batting, anything but Mountain Mist is fine, and I have quilter's dream cotton or poly. Please square up your back, and have it be at least 4" wider and longer than your top, so I can attach it to the machine. Did I answer your questions? Lisa

Hi Cindy, I got information from my sister. She belongs to a guild called Quilters by the Sea in Portsmouth. They have a web site which you can google. She says there is a guild nearer to you but she has heard that they are a bit "snooty" (her words). Her group is VERY friendly and welcoming. They meet on the first Thursday of the month from Sept. to June. Hope you find this information helpful.

Hi Cindy. I love your quilts. Where are you in RI? My sister lives in Jamestown and belongs to a guild somewhere near there. She is what I like to term a quilt artist. She says she just loves to quilt.
