About Me
I've been married to Larry since 1967, have 3 grown/married children, all happy with their lives. I have 4 grandsons now. Such a joy. I love sewing and have been quilting now for a few years. I'm happy to find this site. I've been sewing since my children were babies. My oldest daughter is 38 now, then a son 36, and a last son 29. I have made and enjoyed soft sculpture dolls since 1982, improving the more I made them. I started giving them as gifts and then sold many over the years. Didn't start quilting until 2002 and now my doll making has slid to the background. I might post a few old pictures of my dolls. I just got my digital camera this past year and need to figure out how to get some of my old pictures on here.

I've been working on small projects that are fun and quick and lets you use lots of colors and different fabrics. I find that it rejuvinates you with your sewing. I'm making Wonder Wallets and small hand bags with a zipper and quilted patch on front and back. Also, making Snapp Happy little bags which I posted a picture of. Small projects help booste you up, if you know what I mean. These projects are also giving me practice with some machine quilting because they are easy to handle. Colleen… Continue

It is still cold in Akron, Ohio friends. I love working on my flannels especially at this time of year. It's been slow with my projects but I do keep something going (besides being on my computer and playing Farmtown lately), ha,ha. I hate to say it but I have gotten hooked to Farmtown due to a friend, who is also a quilter/sewer/crafter. What I wanted to share was the fact that I started thinking "quilt" in the designing of my farm. So, it was a challenge to my friend once I had started and… Continue

Home Sweet Home

It is nice to be back home, except for our weather here in Akron. Chee-e-e! We had a few rainy days in LA, but we also had some nice weather, sunny, and warmer. Got to see Forrest Whitaker, like I said before, and then the very next night my husband, Larry, Keith and Valerie went back to blockbuster to rent another evening movie and there was Drew Carey picking out a movie. Yep. My husband got to shake his hand also. Drew was very friendly also. Larry and I got our picture taken with the… Continue

Thanks Colleen. I like the Lazy Girl patterns and follow this blog of Joan Hawley:
She has some great tutorials and ideas for making small changes to her bags and wallets.

I wish I had more time for quilting, its one of those things I have to make time and summer is really hard for me because you want to be outside and I have all my grandkids around and we are always doing something. I wish I didnt have to try to fit in work into my day then life would be so much easier. But that isn't possible so its off to work I go and then I DREAM when I am there to be doing the things I would rather do.

Thanks, Colleen. My water color quilt you commented on was done in strips, rather than squares. There are several methods, as you may know. Doing a wc quilt is an exercise in color value. I learned a lot making it.
