I'm new to quilting and embroidery, but I'm hooked. As a child I remember my Mother setting in front of the TV at night and hand sewing quilt peices together for the top. It would take her months, but then she would pull out the quilting frame and work on that for months. I didn't understand until she finished the first one I remember, Then I was total amazed, and thought I always wanted to learn. But my mother passed when I was very young and I nebver got to learn from her. It took 35 years for me to take my first class, and I fell in love with the process. The only difference is I sew on a machine and my Mom did it all by hand.

My pets are awesome!
A 6 year old Blue Doberman named Jake, whom my kids say I treat better than I did them when they were growing up. But he doesn't talk back and ask for money all the time like they did. He is spoiled rotten and is very demanding at times.
I don't know about it being a La. thing because my Sister that collects them lives in Mississippi. LOL I just like to help her out with her collections. Another Sis and SIL made her a Flamingo Quilt too. Thanks any way for the thoughts.
Thank you for the kind words about my quilts and purses. They are from a Penny Sturgis pattern, "Bow Tuck Tote". Her instructions are very easy to follow and it makes it a pleasure to make them. Her pattern is in kit form or just the pattern on this CT site. If you type in that name on the shopping page you will find it.
