Hi Cottenwood Quilter,

I haven't been on here for a long while. I hope all is well with you. I just want to say Hi and let you know I was thinking of you. Merry Christmas.

Hi Linda,

I answered your question on the group page...which is where I saw it first.  Keep on the with T-shirt quilts...they are a lot of fun.  I recently completed one as a wedding present which had pieced blocks (different for each shirt) around the shirt.  It was wild and crazy and a ton of fun.  The best part is the total freedom to do anything you want with the quilt.  Just treat the shirts as another kind of block.  I have done quilts that were mostly pieced blocks with just three or 4 shirts as accents.

I use graph paper when I design a quilt.  I decide on a pattern and a size and then I draw it out.  That way I know how many blocks I am going to need and how big my borders are going to be (they are usually sized to bring the middle piece to the size I want).  I have learned to work in pencil bacause I usually get it wrong once or twice before I like what I have.

I usually check in here every day...so let me know if you have any more questions that I haven't answered (it's hard to remember when I can't see the note I am responding to...I think that is my biggest complaint about this site).

Thanks for the suggestion and the compliment on my quilts. I tried the dowel and it works pretty well. I use my HQ16 for my own and customer quilts. I really like your photos if quilts, especially the watercolor cross.

Hello, I am sending you a separate email with the HQ16 track photos.  I hope the photos are clear and that you can see how the tracks are counterscrewed in to the table.  By the way, I really like your Halloween twister quilt.  Your fabrics are gorgeous!  Have a wonderful day!  Paula from Topeka, KS

Good to hear from you Linda,!  we are doing pretty good,,3rd shift is getting better and we just had a vacation -we went to West Virginia,,to see about houses,,and maybe living in the area,. don't think that is for us right now..

Wow new chickens, Sex links,,,!! bet thoses will give you some nice eggs,,,ours are doing fine,,although I would not get any more Americanas, they don't lay every day. We have to build a new out door cage for the new chickens but not until my DH gets on 1st shift,,maybe soon,,!! PRAY..

Quilting-I have been-made 10 charity quilts for the Indians in Canada. for my cousins.

My cake decorating class went very well, I made a bunny for my last class, and it came out pretty well, cuz it did look like a bunny!!! (you put the icing on waxed paper and put it in the freezer, and flip it over) but I did learn someything new so I do like it,,,have to do a cake for our quilt guild..next Tuesday.

Good to know you are busy with your quilting business,,,I still can't use mine yet,,but when my DH gets on 1st shift alot of things will change. They walked out the 1st shift forman out the door right before we left on vacation...we also went to Pennsylvania,,,to get fabric,,,but I was shocked over the prices, they went sky high,,8.00-19.00 depending what you wanted. oh we were shocked,,but we did mangage to find a couple of places where it was  about 5-6 $ a yd. needless to say,,I didn't buy too much,,,but we did have fin anyway,,went to see SIGHT AND SOUND  now that was wonderful besides we got free tickets, they are about 49.00 a piece. now that was a blessing!!!

have to go spend time with DH he only has several days left,,have to go back sunday nite,,to work,,

good to hear from you.
