Haven't been online at Connecting Threads for some time. I am bound and determined to get my son's life quilt finished. I have 3 more squares to hand quilt and then sew my binding. It has been a very long project but just can't wait to get started on my other patiently waiting projects.

I am going to Canada in a couple of weeks. Since my mother and father passed away us 3 sisters made a pac to always have a week together. We do this the first part of July ( that is when my mother's… Continue

Fingers Hurt

Posted on April 11, 2009 at 3:52pm 3 Comments

I have been hand quilting my son's life quilt all day today and my fingers hurt so much. I can't seem to use a thimble so the tips of my fingers hurt. OUCH!!!

I got 4 whole squares done today so that is a productive day. I refuse to start on anything else till it is done so it will probably take awhile.

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter.

Today doesn't seem to be a good day. I have some kind of allergy and woke up this morning covered with hives again. I have been going over all that I touch and ate the last couple of days and can't come up with anything.

Of course it is Ohio and April so we had snow last night and they are expecting more today and then 53 degrees for tomorrow. Go figure.

I don't know how much I will get done today as the medicine I take for the hives makes me very sleep but if I can I am… Continue

Table Runner Finisher

Well I just finished up the Table Runner and posted pictures of it. I am now onto finishing my son's Live Quilt. I have to sandwich together, quilt and find. That has been a very long project for me and have to determine what to do to quilt it yet.

Busy Weekend

Well I really tried to do some quilting this weekend. I got the gold kalidascope table runner sandwiched, and quilted round flowers in the blank maroon squares and hand quilted oak leaves down the gold sides. I have one more side to hand quilt and then sew my binding and done with another project. WOOO HOOO

You asked about the pattern of Tea Time that my mom made of the 3 ladies. I did have all of her patterns when she passed away in 2002, but I have cleaned alot of it out. Not sure I have it anymore, but I'll check. Thanks for your comment

Thanks so much for link. Can you just see all those cats laying on my daughters bed? She's gonna love it. Thank you for you nice words left for me about my quilts. I appreciate them so much. Laura

Thanks - I love this wallhanging, too. I have all of her patterns, so I'll see if I have this one and what company published it. Have a good weekend!

Dale, so many people have wanted to know where to find the pattern for my cat quilt, that I decided to add it to the caption under the picture. In the mean time, you can find the components for the quilt in the book The Cat's Meow: Purr-fect Quilts for Cat Lovers, by Janet Kime (That Patchwork Place, 1994, 2004). I still collect cat fur fabrics whenever I can find them since my DH still thinks any cats I make should look like cats. Hope you are having a good quilting day.
