My daughter is visitng and looking through my older catalogues from Connecting Threads. She has fallen in love with the quilt called Pick a Pretty Posy. Of course it is no longer available to purchase the pattern or kit. Does anyone have the pattern they would sell to me? Thanks Continue

As I start my blog it is March 9th and we woke up to -35degrees C. Too cold for March, but we are a hardy bunch! And being house bound allows more time for quilting and that's a good thing. Also the sun is shining. I have spent the past year trying to finish up my UFO's. We had a challenge in our quilt guild to finish UFO's and it did give me a boost to work on them. I have finished several items but now I mostly have big quilts left to do. I love making tops but then am not so good at getting t… Continue

Hi Darlene... My mom didn't have surgery. they told us that she wasn't a good canditatefor surgery.. she is a diabetic, have parkensons and have had a few bouts of cancer and she gave up and never tried to walk after her fall ..she was 83 sept 6th . the same as you my sister lives 25mins.away and can visit more often... I have the same pattern as your bag but havent made it yet .. I have to go to Corner Brook to buy Material or buy from Connecting Threads ..we have a small sewing shop here but very little variety .. and they don't have the iron on batting that you need for the bags .should of bought some when we were in Moncton in the summer .. sorry to hear about your sister ... at this time in our life we seem to have so many ups and downs and like you i worry about everyone and every thing .. this H1N1 flu is frightening ..my baby grandson is to young to get the shot but the 3 other grand children have had their shots... we cannot visit mom because the ward is closed to visitors ...talk again soon June

Hi Darlene ... I have had a very busy summer .my youngest son and wife had a baby boy june11th ..happiness.. the same night my mom fell and fractured her hip .. sadness .. we went to Moncton NB to visit our grandson and then back to NL to help my sister with mom .. she is now in long term care ..very discontented but we can't manage her at home ..she is 3 hrs.away from here and with winter weather coming we won't get to see her very often ... I started to cut out a quilt in the summer while we were in the travel trailer .so now i am sewing it ..it's called pick and choose or jacobs ladder ..It has 30 dark and med colors and 15 beige and cream tone on tone ..I added more to make it larger .. it's coming together good and i think that i will hand quilt it after Xmas ..my sister from Edmonton made me a nice bag with grommets that the handle goes through .. she also sent me the pattern so i may make one for my daughter in laws for xmas ... today we have snow the first for this yr. but i hope that it goes away again we don't need this so early ... will talk again soon ... Hi Darlene, I got the idea from the Magazine Better Homes and Gardens Creative Collection. It's one I just bought this past weekend. There are quite a few purse patterns in it. I didn't make it exactly like it but you can see the resemblance.

Hi Darlene ! Thanks for the compliments. I just discovered this week how to attach a picture to comments, so I'll try to explain how I do it. When you open the comment box, you will see a bluish bar at the top. Click on the icon that looks like a small camera (second from the end). That will open another box (Add an image). Go to "Upload an image" - brownse - and choose your picture from your computer. Then go to options and click on "Create Thumbmail" (300 pixels is recommended) and then click "Add". You do not actually see the picture till you click "Add Comment", you only see all the codes.
I hope this will be helpful.
I am leaving for the Paducah Quilt Show this afternoon and will be back on Sunday night. If you want to test this, you are welcome to try it on my Comment Wall. Have a great weekend and Happy Quilting ! Ginette

Darlene-Cute purse! I printed the pattern also and I hope to get around to making my own sometime in the near future. Have way too many projects going currently to start another one! :)
I had to laugh when I saw your picture. You are a dead ringer for a friend on mine who's name is also Darlene. They say everyone has a twin and your's must be in Dubuque, IA!!!
