About Me
I have a quilting group of 5 meet at my house every Tuesday night (rain or shine) It's not only a quilting group --it's our own little therapy session--for all sorts of topics seem to pop up. We have developed a strong bond and we have become very good quilters. We do some work for the public and earn money to take field trips --as eating at a restaurant we've heard a lot of talk about, or going to the Grand Old Opry--we feel we have something special--that money can't buy and we wish every woman could have this--we feel as women this is something "needful". we laugh, we cry we disagree, we group hug, and we Work-- and we love it.

Hello All--it has been a while .Let me see if I can catch ya'll up on the Needles. Well, we have been really busy. I finally finished my Starry Night Quilt... in our pictures it is the blue one with white stars with the Siamese cat on it. I put a light blue star print on the back and hand quilted it . Sue is going crazy on her Crazy Quilt -- hopes to get it finished by Christmas--going on three years in the making. Sue's telling me now... be sure and tell them its a SUPER KING SIZE --yea right… Continue

Adventures of The Leather Needles

Well, we're still here--and growing. Two new Needles have been inducted into our group, RoseAnne, and Carol, who bring their unique taste in fabrics and patterns with them. It amazes me --all the six of us have our own style, so to speak. It makes it so interesting and so much fun. Carol became a Needle Tuesday night. We require that a visitor must complete one sewing project completely in order to become a Needle-- just to make sure we have people who are truly interested , willing to work and… Continue

Adventures of the Leather Needles

This is my first post, (well actually I just finished one, and it disappeared into who knows where) so I'll try again. Quilting had to be canceled this past week because so many irons were in the fire so to speak, Lisa (our teacher) was visiting her daughter in Mass., Roseanne had family obligations, Diane who is adopting two beautiful little girls had parenting class--that left Sue and me -- so we just canceled. Now Sue tells me she's going to Texas with her daughter (who shows The Worlds… Continue

Thank you so much for the compliments. :)

I understand the quilt making and giving process. If you don't give a quilt to everyone, you might trip on a lip or two. lol

PS I love it that you have a group of ladies getting together at your home. I have a quilt guild meeting every month that I look forward to and it's always nice to visit with other women.

Take care

Hi Debbie, My Amaryllis were "inherited" from my Mom a few years before she passed. She was having a "dining room and laundry area added on the back of her mobile home and had to dig them up to make room. She told me she knew they would be well cared for at my house. The purple Irises came ffrom my MIL and she is gone now also. I always have something to remind me of them. I worked in the yards today and found some petunias in the MIL's part of the yard. I took the shovel and moved them into my front bed as they were just out in the middle of her old yard. I hope they will survive.
I thank you for the kind words on my photos. I really haven't been quilting a long time. I started in 2007 after some major heartbreak. Our youngest daughter died on Dec.9th of 2006. My Mom pushed me into doing some sewing to try to keep my sanity. From then on I was hooked. I truly enjoy sewing the pieces together and seeing the outcome..................

Hi Debbie, your group is fab. I live in the West of Ireland and I belong to a very similar type of group. We meet every Tuesday night too and I love it so much. There's a picture of my group on my page. We have such great fun. For me, it's what quilting is all about-sharing ! Hope you had a lovely Birthday,

Happy Birthday!

No, I don't work with leather. My former stepmom works for Tandy Leather in Texas. My husband has some leather working stuff that he said he was going to work on but to this day, he hasn't. I think he just "thought" he wanted to do leather stuff, LOL. I just "do cotton" too. I just inherited a bunch of decorator fabric from a friend at church. He saved it from being "dumped" into a dumpster. I have no clue what to do with it.

"Happy Birthday" to you Debbie!!!!!!!!!!!! I also am jealous of your group. I wish I had a group or even 1 or 2 to quilt and sew with. I would love to have more than 1 to talk to while I quilt.................

Happy Birthday! I'm jealous, that group of yours sounds wonderful. Everyone could use something like that. Also, my daughter would love to meet all of your "pets" She is graduating this year and never got a horse. She had to settle for 4 cats , two dogs and other assorted furry animals which has passed on.

What part of Tennessee are you in? I live in Murfreesboro. You mentioned the Grand Ole Opry so I'm thinking you're somewhere close to Nashville. I tried your website link and it's not working. It gives you a list of places to buy leather needles and Tandy leather products.
