About Me
I have been quilting for 25+ years. I teach embroidery software classes at our local quilt shop and used to teach beginners when I worked there on a regular basis. Now I have my own pattern company, Sew Simple Patterns and have been very fortunate in that Connecting Threads has 2 of my patterns and I have one with Keepsake Quilting. I work out of my home and am the caretaker of my parents who are in their late 80's. I love to quilt and come up with new pattern ideas. I've been married for 33 years and have two boys, 25 and 28. I also love to read and cook for my family, if hubby does dishes, that is.

My sewing room has a floor......and a cutting table.........go figure!

OMG! I can walk into my sewing room. Can you believe it? With all the last minute sewing/quilting and packing and unpacking you can imagine how awful that room looked. Plus it’s right off the garage so it’s a great “dump” room for others. The last company I had in that room had to walk sideways to get in. I even frisked her to make sure she didn’t have a camera or cell phone on her to record my self made disaster. Well, as of last night, I have scrub’d every bit of wood, I even moved my desktop… Continue

Wow-----what a week!

Hello everyone! I’ve just spent the last hour reading all the past news I’ve missed. It’s been one of those weeks and I am soooo looking forward to things getting back to normal. We had to empty out the motor home so it could go into the shop for a new roof. ($7000) Good thing we had insurance or I would have opted for a convertible motor home. I bet it took 200 trips in and out of that darned thing to empty it out. We had it set up so that we could just climb in and take off so that meant we ha… Continue

Home in Good Ole Washington State

Well, we have finally arrived home and what a joy it is. For some reason the last few days on the road seemed really hard. We drove some extra miles each day and ended up cutting out 2 days of driving. My parents were sure glad to see us home. I have some great pictures to share.... later. We took a shortcut in our haste to get home and ended up on a mountain pass 10,000 feet high with lava beds and no place to turn around. It was beautiful but scarry with only a 3' shoulder between us and the g… Continue

Day 2-Going Home

Leaving Kerrville Texas

Woke this morning feeling much better. Actually felt good enough to have breakfast. It’s amazing how Ny-Quil makes you sleep. This morning we left Kerrville TX and plan to go as far as Lubbock TX. So far it’s been smooth sailing as nothing drastic has happened. We even lucked… Continue

Homeward Bound

Well, it’s Monday and we left Houston this morning after packing up the motor home and returning the rental van. Market and Festival is really something. If you EVER have a chance to go to Festival, you won’t be sorry. It is truly something you think you know but it’s that and more. One hour before the doo… Continue

I am trying to email you and I can't find your email. I asked Virginia if she could forward a copy to you, and to ask you to email me so I have your email address again.
I restored my computer and of course Jim isn't home to set up my outlook with my email accounts again.
UUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuugh! I hate computers.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Debbie, the pic of the quilt I posted is from Keepsake Magazine, I did not make it. The exchange will be the 1st of March. If you are interested, you will have all Jan and Feb to work on the blocks, I am just taking sign ups now and ladies can be getting their material. Something to do in the Winter Months.

Hi Debbie, First of all I want to say Welcome back. I followed you on your trip by following your post everyday. I loved seeing the pictures... for someone who has to stay in the house all the time it was like I was on the trip with you. Sorry the roof is going to cost so much to fix. We have a fifth wheel... and it is really nice to just go off. I try to keep it clean... and I take everything out too. It is work... but it is so worth it to go away in.

Debbie I wanted to also thank you for the lovely post of Jeff. I am so thrilled about his conidtion,....and I just have to share. Thanks again Debbie! Soon we can talk business too. More like the first of the year. I am still working on my site... and short on the DO RA ME.lol Thanks again Hugs Morgan

Hi Debbie, I just figured I'd give you a call on our way thru, but, since you won't be home, I'll just think about you. Yes, we've used DOT. com for several years. It really came in handy when we helped my sister move back to San Antonio the 1st part of March in '06. DH told her, if we run into snow in the passes, we'll hold up in a motel. Since she was paying for the rental truck and gas, food and lodging, we hoped that we'd have no snow. Well, we were being watched over, because the only snow we encountered was in Missoula the 1sst morning on the road. But, the camera showed the pass bare and dry, so off we went in a blizzard, that we were only in for about 20 miles. Then all the rest of the way, showed no snow and we made it down there in 4 days. The a few days after we left Missoula, it showed all the passes with 2' or more with snow. I drove our Explorer down so we could see some relatives and friends on the way back. We had hard wind going down and coming back, plus a blizzard in NE, that closed the freeway, but was okay the next day. What a trip that was with all the different road conditions. But, we saw everyone we want d to see. Have a great week. Yes, we will drive carefully over the pass and take food, blankets, chains and everything we'll need in case they close the pass coming home.

Hi Debbie, You asked me to take a picture of the ocean for you, so, I'm posting 2 of them. Your trip was so exciting and I read every blog. Hope this works into more business for you. We're going to Cd'A on Tues, but won't be able to stop. We're coming home on either Thurs or Fri. I's suppose to be raining, so hope that there's no more snow in the pass. Take time for yourself.

My beloved pug- we are treating her with chemo at this time

My Maggie Sue.....She loves watching TV. We like to blame her for a bad movie pic but we know who to really blame. (DH) We cant watch anything with animals as she get irritated and want's to attach them. We haven't watched a dog show is 10 years. She almost hyper-ventilated over all those dogs being in her familyroom.
