About Me
I have been quilting for 25+ years. I teach embroidery software classes at our local quilt shop and used to teach beginners when I worked there on a regular basis. Now I have my own pattern company, Sew Simple Patterns and have been very fortunate in that Connecting Threads has 2 of my patterns and I have one with Keepsake Quilting. I work out of my home and am the caretaker of my parents who are in their late 80's. I love to quilt and come up with new pattern ideas. I've been married for 33 years and have two boys, 25 and 28. I also love to read and cook for my family, if hubby does dishes, that is.

Home in Good Ole Washington State

Well, we have finally arrived home and what a joy it is. For some reason the last few days on the road seemed really hard. We drove some extra miles each day and ended up cutting out 2 days of driving. My parents were sure glad to see us home. I have some great pictures to share.... later. We took a shortcut in our haste to get home and ended up on a mountain pass 10,000 feet high with lava beds and no place to turn around. It was beautiful but scarry with only a 3' shoulder between us and the g… Continue

Leaving Kerrville Texas

Woke this morning feeling much better. Actually felt good enough to have breakfast. It’s amazing how Ny-Quil makes you sleep. This morning we left Kerrville TX and plan to go as far as Lubbock TX. So far it’s been smooth sailing as nothing drastic has happened. We even lucked… Continue

Hi from IQF

Friends, I haven't forgotten to post a blog....I've just been to tired to think. Today is Saturday and my booth has been bombarded with quilters. Everyone has been so patient and friendly that we can't help but have a great time. I get some time off about 5:30 each day and sneak over to the quilt show and take a few photos. When we get packed up and head for home I'll get some of the photos uploaded and share them with you. They are amazing!!!!!!
I have had the great honor to meet several of our… Continue

Hi Debbie, You asked me to take a picture of the ocean for you, so, I'm posting 2 of them. Your trip was so exciting and I read every blog. Hope this works into more business for you. We're going to Cd'A on Tues, but won't be able to stop. We're coming home on either Thurs or Fri. I's suppose to be raining, so hope that there's no more snow in the pass. Take time for yourself.

Hi Debbie, you can advertise anything you like on your profile page - no restrictions. I haven't made any official rules about blog posts or group posts that are commercial, but I have banned a couple of people that were non quilting and were aggressive in their posts.

So I'd say you should feel free to make the occasional blog post about new patterns and specials and just send them to your profile page.

Hey. Debbie, It's been busy round here lately. Just finished class of 4 weeks. Into the 3rd week of After School Sewing Club. We have 8 attending about our limit. So they will finish the pillow tomorrow. Then start on the bag the following week. No I have not forgot about the patterns and I still want to do them I'm collecting the fabric for the applique wall hanging I have in mind. Told my friend about it and she thinks it would go over well. I want to do one myself then find someone who like applique to follow my patterns so it is not down on paper as yet. I'm trying to finish a hunter star Christmas wall hanging to hang on my wall but it will be my sample of an upcoming maybe two classes. Intermediate level. Also my p.p. one that I have half done for a pattern is half down but I think I need to rethink it= the colours are too blah. I would like to buy a pattern off you an apron. I will look at your site and find the number. I will email you and you can tell me how much it is and include the postage. I will get a postal (american) cheque for you. I have to go to bed it is getting late have an early start in morning. Great to hear about your success at market sooooo glad for you. You deserve it after all your hard work. Congrats!!

Hey Debbie how was the trip overall. Did you enjoy the show and did it bring you a lot of exposure? I hope so for all your hard work. I have enjoyed the road travel immensely and I'm sure you realize a lot of our fellow quilter here did too. So great to tag along with you at our computer. I would like to get a apron pattern but will contact you via your email. Talk tomorrow as it is late now.

Debbie--I don't know what it is about 3rd grade teachers, but your's was wrong. Thank you for the encouragement. My dad is home from the hospital, and my mom is determined to keep him there. But by bedtime last night, she was again at the end of her rope since his meds have been reduced and he is agitated and confused--and very angry with us for abandoning him at "that place" so that the had to get a furniture truck to bring him home. Next week DB will be up there overnight and the battle will break out again. I think Daddy should be in assisted living/nursing home but I can't make that happen--all I can do is support my mother and suggest things she can do or help she can get to keep him as safe as possible at home. I do need to get to the point of listening, even when I'm bearing the brunt of their anger, but just putting up a wall of knowledge that I'm doing the best I can. My primary job, though, is taking care of my DH, who is disabled, and who needs pretty constant care himself. He never does well when he I'm gone, especially now that the children are both gone too.

The boxers are fun. You just need a yard per pair... and the elastic.

Thanks Debbie. That was very nice of you to give me such a complement. You see I spend about 3 hours here in the a.m. and just want to keep in touch and then I make my prayer list from those who are going through rough times and every morning then they are prayed for. Hope you are feeling better too and the cold is going away. Don't take it home with you - leave it along the road - maybe in a place you really don't care for (Ha).

The boxers - PATTERN INFO: First Choice Boxers #404 by Timber Lane Press. Comes in kids or adult sizes. You can find it a lot of places. I've seen it at JoAnn's and many quilt stores have it as well as online shops. I sew them, but you could probably serge most of it.

My beloved pug- we are treating her with chemo at this time

My Maggie Sue.....She loves watching TV. We like to blame her for a bad movie pic but we know who to really blame. (DH) We cant watch anything with animals as she get irritated and want's to attach them. We haven't watched a dog show is 10 years. She almost hyper-ventilated over all those dogs being in her familyroom.
