About Me
I have been quilting for 25+ years. I teach embroidery software classes at our local quilt shop and used to teach beginners when I worked there on a regular basis. Now I have my own pattern company, Sew Simple Patterns and have been very fortunate in that Connecting Threads has 2 of my patterns and I have one with Keepsake Quilting. I work out of my home and am the caretaker of my parents who are in their late 80's. I love to quilt and come up with new pattern ideas. I've been married for 33 years and have two boys, 25 and 28. I also love to read and cook for my family, if hubby does dishes, that is.

Boy things do change, don't they

Wow, I feel like a stranger here. Life somethings interrupts life but we go on anyway. My life has been full of caring for my mom. She's not having a good month and we just cant seem to find what the cause is so it's one appt after another. We live in a small town, with not very many doctors so we drive 1 1/2 hours to get to major medical. She's been in and out of intensive care a few times. Mom is home now and hopefully on the mend. It's amazing what some drugs can do.

Anyway, things

It Came.....

I got my Quiltie award in the mail. I'm pretty sure it came Friday, but I didn't have a chance to check the mail until Saturday. My mom was here and we had a great laugh. She had some comments on my award...... "What's that mean? That you talk too much? Just tell them to talk to your brothers. They'll get an ear full. Didn't you have a teacher once that said you talked to much? Or was that one of your brothers " Then she changed into this other person saying ..." Oh that is sooo adorable. You;ll… Continue

YIKES!

Is it really Saturday? Where did this week go? I've missed so much the last few weeks that I'm fearful I'll never get caught up. I have a few more parent things to take care of in the next week or two and then maybe....just maybe, I'll be back to normal. I do have some amazing new to share though......If you don't know, my patterns were picked up by JoAnn stores and for the last several months have been in a "test market". Well, in the last two weeks I've had two huge pattern orders...over 700 e… Continue

Monday Night

HOUSTON..........MISSION ACCOMPLISHED......THE MOTHER SHIP HAS LANDED (HOME)
It took me all day but I got her out of there last night at 7:00. New meds, and lots of papers and all is well.
All of you are so nice with your thought and prayers. I survived this experience and I'll hone up and be ready for the next. Let's just hope it's not this week. How about some eye candy to get into a better frame of mind.

A Busy Day today.

Well, it's been a hectic and scary couple of days. My mom ended up in ICU last night. On Friday she complained with a really sore shoulder and I wanted to take her to the Dr. and the tough old bird absolutely refused. Then Saturday, it was worse and still she wouldn't budge. Finally Sunday we ended up at emergency and they poked and prodded and admitted her after 5 hours. She had to have her shoulder drained of fluid and it ended up being blood as her INT level was a 5 and should be 2-3. They to… Continue

Okay, here's an on line quilt puzzle from The Quilt Show newsletter. It took me 5minutes 41 seconds. See if you can beat that time. I'm not very good plus I had to answer a few of hubbys questions along the way. Darn men! (http://www.jigsawplanet.com/?id=277253db5fb769dContinue

Thanks Debbie. Yes, I have learned to speak softly when the door has been opened, and to witness more by action that words with Adam. I haven't lost hope, but you know as a mom, when our kids hurt, we hurt..... even if our "Kids" are our Mom!

Thanks, Debbie for the support. Adam called late last night, very tired but his voice was more relaxed. They will see what Jenna's protein count is today. If it is 5 or more they will deliver the baby, if lower she will probably go home again. We in that waiting game. I'm doing fine - I have a peace about all of this. My concern is more with Adam's wavering on his faith - Satan has been working his tricks on him, but I'm sending him packing!

Hi Debbie, Thanks for your post. Well, you asked how my son is...he is great. He took a college class on being a movie director... and he is now filming his first movie. His wife kids with him, that the kidney he got was from a female. Jeff is not really sure. It was a 20 year old. That is still in the works to meet the family. Anyway, his wife thinks its a females as Jeff is filming a love movie...which never before was there for Jeff. He eats all sorts of different type food now too. Food he would of never eaten before. We joke with him.
Debbie my website has now 11 pages to it. I worked more on it.. while sick. I am just now getting back on my feet. I have not started the business part as yet... due to money issues. Looks like the break for that will be in April. A big loan will be finally paid off then. That puts almost 900.00 back in our pockets a month. Whoo Hooo! I am glad for this. Do not worry when I get to that point Debbie we shall talk of all sorts of things. I have never given up on my plans. I have not forgotten about us either. Have a wonderful Day! Hugs Morgan Thanks too for your post.

No snow here in the south unless it is a fluke. Just cold and rainy. At least I have Barbara's new book to cuddle up with under my Southern Stars quilt.

The baby is my granddaughter, Piper. She was only 4 mo. old in those pics, but is a very big baby, 10#7oz when born! Piper and her Mom have been living with us, which keeps us pretty busy. I am very excited about your patterns and can't wait to go to JoA's. Thanks for describing them to me.

Debbie, no problem. I am also looking forward to our friendship. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I normally take Sun-Mon off and it takes me two days to catch up on emails!

My beloved pug- we are treating her with chemo at this time

My Maggie Sue.....She loves watching TV. We like to blame her for a bad movie pic but we know who to really blame. (DH) We cant watch anything with animals as she get irritated and want's to attach them. We haven't watched a dog show is 10 years. She almost hyper-ventilated over all those dogs being in her familyroom.
