I took hand quilting lessons about 30 years ago but haven't handquilted for quite some time. I am now trying to teach myself to quilt using Aunt Becky's finger protector. For the past several years I have made heirloom clothing, smocked and done machine embroidery. I prefer handwork to machine work.

Deborah: As I mentioned previously, the Aunt Becky takes lots of patience (at least it did for me). Your brain is so used to doing this another way - I hope others will chime in and give you lots of good advise about this. A few of our friends at the quilt frame are really pro's with Aunt Becky. Good luck and happy quilting. Joyce
Deborah: Welcome to the quilt frame. I was particularly intrigued that you are into heirloom clothing. My husband and I perform Civil War music and most often dress in costume (which I make) when we perform. I am a hand quilt only type person for many years and love the craft. I was glad to see you're teaching yourself the Aunt Becky - several of our members also use Aunt Becky including myself. You have to be patient with yourself but it really pays off. So glad you are part of our group. Joyce
