I love the shop in Ames. I also have a new "favorite" store. It's the Calico Hutch in hayward, MN, near Albert Lea, MN. Their website is www.calicohutchquiltshop.com, I think. Take a look. The staff is so much fun and very helpful.
Hi Dee! I see your hubby is a woodworker. My husband was a contractor for years and now does floorcovering installation. He has done all the woodwork in our home (where he has lived since he was 2) and all the kitchen cabinets for my mother's home. He likes to look at quilt designs and has used some of them for his ceramic tile installations. He is getting quite a name for himself with his original designs.
We live in extreme NW Iowa - 1 hr. from Sioux City & 1.5 hr. from Sioux Falls, SD. We have several really nice quilt shops within 1.5 to 2 hrs. of here. My cousin lives in Florence, Alabama and tells me of all the wonderful shops there. Is Georgia the same way?
That would be great! I have a friend that used to raise sheep and she had a spinning wheel for wool. It was amazing to watch her. Now her and her husband live in Africa--they are missionaries there. My favorite quilt shop is Sweet Home Quilt Co. here in Conyers but I also do alot of online shopping.
