Years before EQ even thought about a Dear Jane product, I drafted all the blocks in EQ, and used them for myself, making paper foundations, so the blocks would be easier to sew. I don't think I could have done them without paper foundation. I am not a very good hand piecer. The Dear Jane CD has a lot of good qualities, but personally I liked drafting my own patterns. I brought the DJ software, just to compare it with what I had already done. I like being able to make changes to the blocks for easier piecing, and the DJ software doesn't allow that. But, that being said, if I didn't have the time or the knowledge to do my own drafting, I would certainly purchase the DJ software to use. Didn't you say that you did most of your stuff by hand. The DJ software also will print templates, which would be useful for hand piecing. Hope this helps,
