About Me
I attended my first quilting class in 1996 in Eagle River Alaska. I was hooked. I can't say that my first quilt would of won any ribbons, but it's proudly hung on my wall as a reminder of how far I've come. I had a few bumps in the road of my life during the last few years, but this is my year to get back into one of my favorite passions, quilting. I also do stained glass. I've lived around the world you could say. My husband is retired from the Air Force. From California, to Okinawa Japan and then onto Alaska. Now in NY, but were looking towards New Mexico as a final retirement place for us. We vacationed there a few years ago and fell in love with it. My son Jason is 32, he lives in Florida and my daughter Megan is 26, she lives in Minnesota.

Enough about me, back to my "QUILTING"
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, machine quilting, embroidery, general sewing, knitting, gardening, other
My pets are awesome!
My "General", he's a 10 yr old rotweiller I adopted 6 yrs ago and "Maggie" is my 15 yr. old kittie I brought from Alaska

Hi Diane and Happy Birthday. I hope you have had a wonderful day today on your B-day. I can hardly type for looking at your beautiful pics. You are very talented. It must have been exciting and informative to live in so many different places. I've lived in several different states but never out of the US.

My man knows how to make me happy, chocolate! Take a look at these wonderful oreo truffles he made me. They're out of this world, so good. I've already had way too many! I displayed them on my favorite heart topper. They won't last long sitting there.…

Sweet & Sour Fabric - Yummy

Posted on September 18, 2009 at 8:50am 1 Comment

Good morning. Let me just say how much I love, love, love, the new "Sweet & Sour" fabric. It's just looks so yummy, adorable, bright, scrumptous, I could go on and on........Ok, now that I've got beyond that, I'm looking for any reviews or comments from anyone that's used the Amy Butler software. I've had my eye on it for quite awhile and the images that CT has posted from it are beautiful. Of course the fabric that she used is lovely, that makes a good impression. Now, it's even on… Continue

She loves the quilt!!!!

Posted on June 27, 2009 at 2:09pm 3 Comments

I just got a phone call from my mom in California and she loves her birthday quilt. I'm glad she's thrilled with it. I told her I sweated buckets making it, literally. I'm still wearing my brace from the fusion surgery and the weather has been rather warm. My mom has been "39" for quite a few years now and I always decorate the mailing box with "Happy 39th Birthday" all over it. She gets quite a kick out of it. As for the quilt, it's a kit I bought from CT. I've made several of their… Continue

Stained Glass

Posted on April 26, 2009 at 11:31am 6 Comments

Hello everyone. What a beautiful day here in NY. I've not posted in awhile. A few of you quilters here know that I'm recovering from my 2nd spinal fusion surgery in less than a year. This has been a tough one. With all this sunshine I'm starting to feel better and stronger day by day. I guess I'm starting to feel like my old self when I've got 3 quilts in different forms of progress all over the house. I wanted to share with you my other passion, and that's stained glass. I've been doing in for… Continue

Suggestions for Quilting Top

Posted on January 25, 2009 at 1:03pm 7 Comments

Hello everyone. I've attached a photo of a quilt top that I would appreciate any advice on quilting. I've been practicing on other scraps of material, but I just don't know what type of designs to try. This is a pattern from Batik Beauties by Laurie Shifrin called " Trip to Indonesia". This quilt measures 38 x 38 inches. She used alot of darker blues and I can't really tell how she actually quilted the top. If you remember my initial post, I'm very intimidated by free motion machine quilting. I… Continue
