I have been on a kick lately making purses/bags/totes. I love it, you can be so creative in the design of them. My sister thinks I have gone crazy, but she sure likes some of the stuff I make. Let's me honest, how many quilts can you make for your family? Living in Florida, not to much use for them here. So I am down to making small quilts, lap or smaller and my all time favorite flip and sew table runners. I work full time so, quilting is usually on the weekends or sometimes during the week if… Continue

Diane, I checked out your blog. It's great! I agree about the vailla and chocolate ice cream comment. Sometimes I make totes that I don't like, but someone else does.
Was it difficult to start your blog? I have been thinking of starting one.

HI Diane, I looked at the pics of your tote bags & they are really cute. I have made a couple and really enjoyed doing them. I agree that a person only needs so many bed sized quilts so I'm starting to make smaller quilts, tablerunners, etc. too. Plus that is a great way to use up those weird sized pieces of batting we all end up with. I now have to drive about 22 miles to get to the nearest LQS so I'm using up more of my own stash. It feels really good to do that actually. I'm also starting to use some of my quilts that I used to keep in a spare bedroom. I figured I'm certainly not getting any younger so why not use them and enjoy them myself instead of just leaving them for my kids to fight over! LOL Janet

Hi Diane, you are the 2nd Las Vegas friend I have found on this site. Larry & I moved to Boonville, MO at the end of Dec. He lost his job in July so our dd talked us in to moving here. He was supposed to start a new job on Jan 5th, but that has now been put on indefinite hold. As you can imagine, MO is quite different than LV, but I don't miss that rat race one bit. Just my 2 sons & their kids! Wish they could move out of there too. What have you been up to lately? Janet

Hi Diane, All your work is beautiful! I really like the Scrap Bag. Did you use a pattern or just make it up? Also, the Best Friends Forever bag. Is there a pattern available? I have made some bags but have stuck to easy ones like the Sassy Bag. You make me want to spread my wings and be more creative.

Hi Diane, I just looked at all your pictures. I love your totes. I love making purses and totes but until I got on this site didn't take pictures of them before giving them away. I would love to get some made to take to Indiana in June but I'm swamped right now with alterations and then I have to make a prom gown for my Granddaughter before May. Sometimes I regret taking in alterations but it supports my "habit" of building my stash and buying new tools on the market. lol Happy Sewing. ~ Irene
