* my favorite season has arrived,
* cool mornings,
* the air is crisp and fresh,
* the leaves start their gorgeous display of color,
* sleeping with an open windows means you snuggled under your quilt,
* the fall fair arrives,
* trip to the pumpkin patch,
* last big push for canning - I have "little red hen syndrome" and feel the need to can everything!
* farm stands are bursting with bright pumpkins, squash, purple…

Or maybe I shoud say Quilt monkey???? I finally decided to put my Double heart bargello in the local fair and spent almost an hour hunched over it picking off little pieces of thread from all the seams. I "thought" I had cleaned it for the machine quilter, but with all the unsewing and resewing of the top, there were all these little bitty bits of thread poking out. I folded it accordian style on the dining room table to work on each section. I felt like a momma gorilla cleaning her…

Thanks, Dianne. That was one I of 10 that I donated to the victims of the flood in Calgary
Have one more business to finish and a few loose ends. We have a quilt show in peachland beginning of June so have a few things to finish for that
Talk soon. Doreen
I don't go to Lindas as long as Jim is there. Long stoory from way back. I also do income tax so it is a busy time for me. I work from home

Your deck must be a lot cleaner than mine LOL
I think I am slightly mad but decided to try and quilt the queen on my own machine - I have the Pfaff Creative 3.0, my first Pfaff and so far I love it. The quilt design is in 4 quarters so I am quilting one quarter at a time - makes it seem more manageable. I must admit, when I see photos of people quilting with a neat roll of fabric on the inside mine looks nothing like that - just a big bundle until I can reach where I want to quilt!
Hope you have a good week and enjoy some spring weather.....
Me again. I was just looking at some of your photos and was wondering how you did the name "Isabelle" on that lovely quilt. Is it embroidered or appliqued or?
Hi Dianne,
I did go back on the group and introduce myself. Seems like a nice group of friendly folks.
I have been so busy trying to finish this queen quilt I am making because I really want to get back to Part 3 of the MQ. I know if I don't get done with the queen it will sit there making me feel guilty. I have never done such a large one and don't think I will again. I laid it on the floor to sandwich it and my poor knees feel battered and bruised this morning!
After seeing how messy my sewing room looked in the photo I did a mini spring clean yesterday as well…..
Hope you are having a great weekend :)
Hi Dianne,
Thanks for the suggestion about the group, didn't know they existed and have just joined.
I buy almost all of my fabric from C.T. When I restarted my quilting hobby I took a course at Quilted Treasures in Coquitlam so that is where I buy if I want something locally/immediately. I find C.T. very reasonable and love the fabrics, just sometimes difficult to visualize on a computer.
Have a great week.
Jill
I have just been admiring your photos - all too beautiful and since I am just beginning I find them very inspirational….
