First off, I'd like to share a photo with you all, but I guess I have no photo's in my profile. I'll have to ask one of my daughter's how to get one in there. I was very excited when I saw this group pop up. I want to make a baby quilt for a co-worker. (She might not share the sex of the baby with us though.) So... I need to make a cute quilt that could go either way. I also thought being a part of a group will help keep me on task to finish it in time for baby's arrival in July. I Look forward to talking with you all at one time or another. Sincerely, Dyan **P.S. After I wrote this first part, I accidentally figured out where a picture of me was and how to add it to my profile!
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
Sorry, I don't remember! lol It's okay though....I appreciate you just the same. I'll have to look back and see now since you mention it. How is everything going with you this winter? We just got some more snow, but it's not too bad. I am so eager for Spring to finally arrive....just a bit more patience I guess! xoxox
Hi Dyan, Oh my gosh, I haven't been on this site for months! Thanks for the comment on my T-shirt quilt. It is the first and only one I've done. The backing I used for the T-shirts was a medium weight non-woven fusible interfacing. The clerk at JoAnn Fabrics recommended it. Sorry, I don't have the brand name. I'm starting a quilt for my son and his fiance. What fun!! Cindy
Hi Dyan, I'm doing pretty good....how about you? I have been seeing the chiropractor for some neck & back pain that's been going on since early Jan. Turns out I have a couple pinched nerves so I can't sit at the sewing machine - or anything else for that matter for very long. The weather has been beautiful. I think spring is finally here! Love it! Well, enjoy your baby quilt & I talk to you again soon. Marie Roorda
Hi Dyan.....did you get to the repair shop? I'm spoiled, never have to think about that. Did you get to quilt today. I worked on cutting out some applique patches for a little wall hanging I'm going to do for my 22 yr old daughter. Talk to you soon. Marie
Welcome to the group. I only joined a couple of days ago too. I too have a baby quilt to make, for my little nephew, born a couple of weeks ago. If I come across a nice unisex pattern I'll let you know. There's nothing nicer than having a baby to quilt for,
Good morning Dyan. Thank you for you kind thoughts on my quilts. The Alan Jackson quilt is a Tee shirt quilt. Had a lot of fun doing that quilt. If you decided to do a tee shirt quilt be sure to stabilize the shirts first with something like Steam a Seam II. Yes I love log cabin quilts and of course the court house stairs is just a log cabin variation. Well have to go. Happy Quilting
