I love Connecting Threads. Nice to find a site where quilters are friends. I have been quilting for about 30 years.I am just getting into long arm quilting. Would like any tips anyone would have on this. Just finished hand quilting a whole cloth quilt for my Daughters Wedding Presesnt. It was more of a project than I thought it would be. Live and learn..

I wish I had known about your guild's show, although I was out of town for the past week (including the past 2 weekends), so perhaps I wouldn't have been able to come. I'll make it to VQF though! I used to love going to "Quilt Camp" in Norwich for VQF! I just don't have the time anymore. : (

Hi Elaine, I was just browsing through some old posts and saw in the 3 fabric swap a post by you that you would be interested in a swap if we had another one. Luann Holst is working on another one. It's a ft qtr swap and she has it listed under groups as Lights! Camera! Action!! Fat Quarter Swap. Check it out. This is open until the end of May. I really enjoyed the 3 fabric swap and am participating in this one also. Was really neat to receive 36 different fabrics at once. Come join us.

Hi Elaine, I saw your posting on Alicia's site about your bobbin problem on your Viking. I know that posting is really old, but maybe this will help you prevent that problem again. I had the same thing happen on my Platinum 770. My dealer told me it is from the bobbin getting warped from the heat of winding it. So she told me to unwind all the thready by hand and then the bobbin will come off. It is a royal pain in the neck, but it worked. I hated to waste all that thread, but decided that was cheaper than a repair bill; especially considering they would have more than likely just done the same thing. After that I no longer wind the bobbin using the start button. I only do it with controlling my foot pedal so it doesn't wind so fast. Hope this helps.

Hi Elaine. Thanks for the feedback on the longarm. That's something I'd like to learn "someday" - not sure when. I have so little time, but I'd like to get back to completing my own quilts again. I've been having fun lately working on the Southern Stars BOM kit that I got from CT. The fabrics are not what I would have chosen for myself, but the pattern is a fun one. I'm sure I'll love the finished product.

Hi Elaine! Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your sewing machine. I have only had 2 machines and both of them have been Viking so I've never really tried anything else except my mom's OLD Singer that she taught me to sew on about 20 years ago! I will shop around before I get an embroidery machine but that's still a few years away!
Do you live on alot of land with all your animals?

I, too, went off all my meds. I don't feel any worse or any better since I did, so that tells you they weren't doing anything for me other than costing me alot of $$$. What natural things is she trying?

Hi Elaine! How nice of you to do this for your friend! It is a lonely disorder. If you complain, most think it is all in your head-even Dr.s.
A sense of humor and a good out look on life goes a long way if combating this. STRESS is a NONO!
