I've been using up scraps to make hot pads... turning out really well... have a few birthday gifts to give and these will do well... disappointed that my camera did not capture the true colours and they look bland when in fact are bright strong colours.....this one has brilliant lime green and purple... oh kay.. new camera maybe?… Continue

Hello Elizabeth....I guess we just keep missing each other on fb. Will have to change that, I miss chatting with you.  We are doing good... the storm just gave our area rain and high winds. I am glad that we did not lose power.

I have been doing some clothing sewing along with quilting. Right now a I am on the last quarter section of my mom's quilt. This quilt has been a year long process. I have done small stuff on the side. Once it is done I will start on my Weaver Fever quilt. The pictures are on my page if you want to look. I have sooooo many tops pieced that I may have to declare another "me" year or two to get them quilted. (LOL)

Speaking of the other sewing I had better get to it. Catch you again soon.  Bonnie

Nice to hear from you Betty,  I have had company all month from England so haven't been on the comp. much.  Jenny will be leaving on the 28th.  I'm going to miss her. She has been sewing up a storm, making purses, aprons, placemats, and pillow top. I have had allot of work ( alterations) so have been working on those along side her.  We have done some fun things, like going out for a whale watch, attended two festivals, and shopping til we dropped.  Along with dinner parties for her to meet my friends.  Tomorrow we are going to Fredericton NB. to Kings Landing.  It's a Historical Settlement.  It's like walking back into the 1800's.

Nice to hear from you Betty.  I haven't been to Hawaii since 1987. I loved it there. It was a trip of sight-seeing. We went to four of the Islands.  Quilting in Paradise, how much better does it get?  Fill me in when you get back. Can't wait to see pictures and hear about your trip. ~ Hugs Irene

Good morning Elizabeth, I haven't seen you on QWU in a long time. Is everything alright with you?  I'm thinking your probably super busy.  I know I have been very busy since the beginning of fall.  I made many of my Christmas presents and then Bud fell and hurt his foot and leg just before Christmas, and had me waiting on him hand and foot for a month.  In between all this I have been trying to catch up on my alterations. I am making headway but just when I think I'm catching up more bags full come in. Yesterday I went and measured windows in a house that I am making window treatments for.  The house had a fired (arson) and the owner had to  re-do the whole house.  Allot of smoke and water damage. Big two story with an apartment on the back.  I'm hoping to get some sewing done later today.  I'm doing laundry and have to go out and pay bills and pick up some groceries.  I have to go out of town on Wed. to a funeral so this is a bad week to get much done in the sewing room.  I hope all is well with you and your family.  ~ Irene

HI Betty, We are fine even thought h e chemical explosion was out our way. Our DS was quite pleased his school was closed or the day and so were his students. Mitchell is now open but it was quite a drama. We slept through it with no early warning phone calls. it must have been scary for the homes not far from the area though.

Floriade is back on and Canberra is gradually filling up with visitors - NSW school holidays next week and ACT the week after. My Uncle and his wife drove down from the Gold Coast to see it and us and some other friends. It was great to catch up with him - he looks so much like how I remember my Dad who died about 32 years ago now.

Hope all is well with you and your family. Guess whose daughter has subtly asked me to make her bridesmaid dress - oh dear!! LOL

Good morning Elizabeth, I posted the cake yesterday on my page. The anniversary party was very nice and I got to see many family members who live nearby but never see. My cousin and his wife were very pleased by the event.

Elizabeth your photo's are absolutely gorgeous. Reminded me of camping with my ex husband and my boys when they were young. There are some things that I miss that I did with him. But I have never missed "him". I just finished decorating an anniversary cake for my cousin's 50th wedding anniversary. I will post a pic later. I have to go now and clean up the mess. I hate washing those tubes and bags. We have been invited out for supper so I'm glad, I don't have to bother making any. Last Friday night I had 13 in here for supper and it was so hot I thought we all would melt. Glad to hear from you. Hope we can connect on chat sometime soon.

Good morning Elizabeth, just thought I would drop off a note to tell you I'm thinking of you. We have been getting gorgeous weather. It's hot but it beats the cold and snow. I'm not getting much sewing done. Doing other things to occupy my time. My son has started the process to buy my house so am cleaning out closets and things, hoping to be moving before too long. I just hope everything goes through and I can get settled before the cold weather hits. I think the reason I have lived here 46 years is I hate the moving process. Have a great day.
