Just thought of something else - for many years I have had a penpal in Wirt, Minnesota, but unfortunately she doesn't have e-mail so we still write the old-fashioned way! Are you that far north in MN? Hugs, KLB
Hi twin quilting sister!! Thanks for your great message and I just had to laugh when reading about the green and purple quilt you are making for a friend - what a mixture of fabrics and textures that will be!! I'll look forward to seeing some of your quilt photos when you have your son to help you post them. My son is also a computer wizard but he lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, so not much help except for the occasional question by e-mail that I can understand the answer to! Hugs, KLB
Hi Ethel: Thanks for asking me to be your friend - at first I didn't recognize your name but now that I have looked at your page, I see that I sent you a message back in March. Are we really twins?? My husband is also supportive of my quilting habit and we both like our own space and time, although he does occasionally use the word "obsessive" in regard to my hobby!! Would love to hear more from you. Hugs, KLB
Hi Ethel: I've been messaging with Lynne Williams who has you listed as a friend so being nosey I just had to take a look at your page. It appears that you also had a birthday on March 7 and since you list your age as 67, that makes us TWINS!!! I have a quilting penpal (real letters as she does not have a computer) who lives near Wirt in your state on a fairly remote farm - told me when her husband got out of the Navy he wanted to be as far from water as possible!!
I'd love to hear from you and feel free to look at My Page to find out a little about me - would love to hear from you! Hugs, KLB
Good Morning Ethel! Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday! I HOPE YOU HAVE "SEW MUCH FUN". Celebrate, every day is a gift from God.
As for late dinners... now that our nest is empty we (my husband or I) don't worry so much about dinner and I don't worry about a less than perfect house. I work long hours and have a forty-five minute to an hour commute so when I do get home I like to quilt. I find it very relaxing.
I do hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Morning Ethel!
I am from the almost as frozen tundra of upstate NY (west of Rochester to be exact)...........When I wasn't working over the holidays I pulled a few all nighters also, so I get you!! As for the messy house, late or no dinners and way to much fabric, I understand also!! I expect that are more of us out there, maybe more than wish to admit it! Wish I could say I to have made the items for our troops, but I have to stop at that one. I just don't have the guts to send my makings to anyone other than family right now........ maybe some time, but I am not good enough yet, it may take another 10 lr 20 years; but I am working on it!! I have made three small quilts for Project Linus and the little ones, have to take them to the quilt shop for delivery....
I am a 62 yr old mom of three grown children and my S O has three grown children also. Between us we have 13 grandchildren!
Have a wonderful day!
