Well it has been awhile since I have posted here..the summer is finally here and the weather has been wonderful...we are getting a few rainy days right now but the grass and the flowers needed it...

I have doing the outdoor thing with cutting grass and I have finished piling my wood for the winter months... I have lost one of my cats and I think based on my neighbours experience that a fisher might have killed her...their cat was also killed...so I am down to one cat and one…

It has been awhile since I have posted but things have been pretty quiet here..we have had temperatures at -13C this week and 9 in the same day...LOL..no wonder our topic of conversation up here is weather..you can't trust the weather reports ..you have to look out the window and have an outdoor thermometer perched outside so you can see it.

I have been trying so finish up some UFO's and have ordered several kits from Connecting Threads..love their fabric and their new Build a Kit… Continue

Well I don't know about you folks but my New Year was pretty quiet...settled down with my snacks and the dog and the cat and watched the ball drop in several localities...Toronto,New York,Niagara Falls...then hit the sack about 1:00 am....very enjoyable...all the children are home and safe...no fights,no arguments,no hurt feelings....(big sigh)....I love having my children but I am so used to being alone it is kind of a relief not to have to entertain or intervene...hope all of you had a safe… Continue

Thank you Gail for your nice comments on my Walking in Winter Wonderland quilt.  I started it about New Years 2010 and had the embroidery finished by late April, but took several months to get all the blocks done and put together and took it to the LAQ in late fall.  I like to do handwork in the evening while my DH is watching sports and also did one of the larger blocks as a travel project.

You have posted some fun machine embroidery projects.  I have some of those patterns, also, but have not used all of them.

Thank you for the welcome.  Where is Maberly, I am in a small village on the shores of Lake Ontario.  We sound to be in the same boat, I also enjoy living on my own.  Love your machine embroidery.  I just bought a Designer I and am waiting for patterns for a quilt about the five little monkeys.

Hi, Gail. The birdhouse designs (from Emb. Library) were not hard at all to stitch. Getting the threads together was as time consuming as the stitching. The designs took about 1 1/2 hours each to stitch on my quattro. I used a good quality 100% cotton with a light weight iron on stabilizer (one I purchase by the yard at JoAnns or Walmart). I started with a new needle and tossed it when I was finished. I stitched 5 of the birdhouses. I think there were 4 or 5 more in the set. I didn't have any problems with any of the designs. Sharon
