About Me
I started quilting when my father passed away in 1993. I had to quit my job and care for my elderly mother. Since I was used to working, I needed a hobby to keep me occupied. There were no more children at home to care for at the time. I have since went back to work part-time at a library where I'm a front desk clerk.

It's an ugly day out here today! Cloudy and rainy. It seems as if there's less and less of a spring and fall here in Ohio. It's either cold for winter or we wake up one day and it's hot and time to turn on the air. Not too much time in between. I've been trying to make myself finish some of my ufo's. I have a quilt for one of my daughters I need to finish quilting. And a table runner to also finish quilting. Right now I need to find some energy to get started.

The weather isn't bad here in Ohio today. The snows coming tomorrow with freezing rain. I am finishing up a signature quilt for my sister. We belong to a church group that meets for six weeks twice a year at my older sister's house. But at the end of February, my sister is moving to Texas. She has found love in her golden years. And I'm happy for her but sad for me. Anyway, our church group of ten signed a quilt that I had made for her to take to Texas. I am really anxious to finish so I can… Continue

Gerry, thank you for the nice compliments on my black quilt! I do love it, although when my daughter in law picked the pattern I was nervous about it...the stars are templates and y-seams! But I stuck with it and I'm glad I did!

Hello, Gerry = interested that you were at Sauder Village. Have never been before but family is having a gathering there when I'm back in area in September. My "ears" perked up when you mentioned fabric......do they have quite a selection there or nearby?

Hi, Gerry! Just came over from Midwest Habitants to check your site out. How do you like working at a library? My daughter lives in Everett, WA and works fulltime at the library there. She just loves it. She started out at the small town library here in Illinois and after a few years had done just about everything. I agree with your sentiment--it's hard to get started.

Gerry, Very cool quilts for your granddaughters and sister. Doesn't it feel great to give something you've made with your own hands!!
God Bless

i liked your version of a signature quilt. I don't think I realized that a four patch with plain squares could be used. Your grandaughters quilts with purple are charming.

Welcome Gerry,
Glad to have you here spreading your talents. What a beautiful thing to do for your sister. I have one sister that lives in NC that I only see once or so a year. But the internet and phone aren't too far away.
So don't be afraid to join in with anything you'd like - quilting or non-quilting.
God Bless You
