Prayer Request

My dear friends,

I have a prayer request. I just received an e-mail from my cousin in Ireland. Her mom had a tumor removed from her bowel last week and the tests came back as cancerous. This dear lady, lost her husband 2 years ago to the same cancer and my cousins are very frightened for her. Her operation was three years to the date from the same one her husband had and she is more worried for her children than for herself. She is in her early 70's, a mother of 8, a grandmother of 23! She is t… Continue

Hi! It's nice to "meet" you too! :) That is Courtney, my oldest. She will be 9 this month. The little one is 3 and she tries to get in there too! It is so fun to watch them learning! Almost as much fun as teaching them! I love the pictures in your slide show! Happy Quilting!

Cheryl: Thanks for your comments. My brother lives in Summerfield, just north of Greensboro and my dad will be about 5 miles from them in a brand new Independant Living facility. I don't know the name of it but it should be completed on the 13th. They will be there on the 15th. So lets hope it's done. How are away are you from Greensboro? We go there every year to visit my bother. He has this awesome home and it's like being at a 5 star resort.

Hi Cheryl! Do you know much about feral cats, having them spayed, or whatever? I may call my vet & see what he says, or if there is any discounts available, or what. I love having them around outside, but hate to see them keep adding to the population of cats around here, & I know it's a big problem all over now. So I am just curious. Right now, there is her, then two of her first three kittens were females, & who knows about these new ones I just saw today, yikes! Do you just take any in & pay the full price, or what have you been able to do?...

I'm glad we're not the only ones who are very entertained by glow-in-the-dark!

Cheryl--you are so right. It is easy to get your priorities messed up and concentrate on things that don't really matter. My children don't remember that I didn't mop everyday or that my ironing left much to be desired--they remember that I read outloud to them every day at lunch and that I cut their sandwiches to look like butterflies. Now that they are growing up, I'm so thankful when they start telling each other "Do you remember..." They won't inherit any money from us, but we have given them a good (and, I hope, godly) inheritance. Bless you for your kind words.

Hi Cheryl - It just can't get worse some day - I always say the same thing ... I wish I had a dull life.... - but when you hear other people...... they are bored or they are tired or... and they didn't even move a finger..... let just say that we will have a full life - and don't forget that with our DH we kind of walk on eggs when we try to help them - and I can imagine that pipe breaking after all.......... take care

Thanks Cheryl! This has been one of those crazy things where you never dream it could happen to you or someone you love. You always read about it happening to other people; someone else's child...not yours. Maybe that is why it all seems so unreal at times. But, through it all, I remain thankful that my daughter is alive and I can hold her and tell her I love her! God is good...
