40 years young...what the hay?...that went by fast!!! Can't remember a time when I didn't "craft". I come from a long line of crafters who started me on sewing and knitting at an early age. I continued my craft education in 4-H for over ten years. Brief craft hiatus to earn my bachelor's in music education. Picked up crafting again after I got settled in my academic advising career. Since the arrival of Griffyn in June of 2006 I have been balancing being a Mom, Wife, Working Full-Time and keeping my newest craft, Quilting, alive. Looking to network with quilters. Would love to open up a totally eco-friendly, organic fabric only, quilt store with retreat space. I am usually into the Autumn spectrum but lately have been mesmerized by more brighter hues. Piecing, rough-edge applique only, embroidery, learning to long-arm quilt. Can't have enough batiks, all things purple/green, and shapes of spirals/circles/dots. Quilt On!

You were wondering if any of us had scifi/ fantasy/ gaming quilts that we've done. If you go to my page and dig through the photos, you'll find a whole cloth quilt that I did with the "White Tree of Gondor" from the Lord of the Rings. I've done a few with Star Wars themed baby quilts for the truly hardcore Star Wars fans that my DH knows, but I didn't take pics of those. I've got a dragon pattern that I'm working on, but haven't finish yet.
You live in Cheney, and we are moving to Aberdeen in the summer, Reardon is about half way between. Do you go to that retreat every year, because if you do, I'd like more info so that maybe we could meet.
Stefanie, your fellow gamer's widow :-)
I had so much fun meeting your group! If there's an opening for next time, I plan on getting in there....LOL. I found that I had more in common with more of you than the quilting group I used to belong to here in Kennewick. Isn't that sad? :(
