The days just aren't long enough..

I found some fantastic fabric for a quilt I am dying to make, but it will have to wait as I have about 7 in front of that one to make first. I did buy the fabric though, so at least I can enjoy the uncut color combinations until then ... Anyone else ever feel as though work interfers with quilting, and the days should include at least 3 Q hours each - hours to be devoted only to quilt work...

I love your quilts in your photographs, Horsefeathers--especially the Dear Jane.  I'm so glad I started reading through the question and answers on hand piecing, which in turn led me to your page.

What beautiful work you do! The feathered start is awesome! Where are you in Tennessee? I used to live in Maryville and worked in Knoxville.

Your pictures are beautiful. I have a friend who used to do the whole quilt by hand but I haven't seen her for 2 yrs. Last I heard she was taking a break from quilting and was an avid knitter now. I also have another friend that is doing Dear Jane completely by hand. Her background is black. What is done is very striking!. So you aren't the only one out there. I am proud to know someone who is keeping the true art of quilting alive.

That is the Dear Jane blocks.. each one is added as it is finished. I purchased a "group" of matching colors and prints that should be enough to finishe the quilt. I will try to update the photo of it. I have several rows doen on it now - but have stopped working on it for a bit in order to finish a machine peiced quilt for my grandson.

Thank you all so much for the nice comments. This site is so warm and welcoming.

Love your feathered star and is the sampler an add as you go project? Because it is beautiful and I love your muted color choices.

What a beautiful star quilt. Your colors are breath taking. I just finished on done in the autumn Thimbleberries colors. Hasn't been quilted yet. Seems I'm a neighbor of yours in N.Ms. Hope we'll get to see more of your quilts.
