I found my passion 18 years ago in quilting and have since been trying to catch up with the knowledge (and stash!) my quilting buddies have. I like to try new things to challenge myself, but also find comfort in the old standbys once in a while. I enjoy the monthly quilt guild meetings sharing with other quilting friends.
I retired the summer of 2013 after nearly 39 years at the same job, and have been finding out what everyone told me...that I'd be busy, busy, busy...how did I have time to work? I have SEW enjoyed helping build our new home and going to activities for my granddaughter.
I have been married for almost 48 years and we have three children...one daughter and two sons. I also have two granddaughters...15 years and 2 yeas old, and one grandson 3 months. We are lucky to have them all close by. We have a dog, 'Wrangler', and a plethora of outside 'barn' cats.

Beautiful work, I'm grand fan of totes.. Make baby quilts for donation how I practice from donated fabrics, which is lots of fun. Always learning new things. Prefer sewing clothes with knits, polar fleece, error proof. Always think others quilting more experienced than myself.
Welcome, as far as retirement don't know why it is called so,
Such beautiful things you've done!! I love the red and black, don't you!? Clemons is near Marshalltown. I live out in the country on a small acreage. I retired last year after 33 years with the same company, so we have that in common, too!
Thanks for the welcome Jackie. I'm new to quilt groups. Only others quilters I know is a Facebook mystery quilt. They are mostly from Canada. I found the mystery for 2014 on here and thought what the heck. That lead me to find the Iowa group.
I'm either losing my mind or have lost a lot of time. I just read a note from you dated June! Surely I had read it and forgot (?) Anyway I am a Jackie O. also. My maiden name is Osborne, lol. I am a Jacqueline with no middle name. I'm not ready for Christmas at all, which is so unlike me. I have to go do some shopping this coming week or I might as well hide in a closet till it's over! Just lost my oldest sister this week and that has put me in a low mood but need to cheer up for the rest of my family. Out of 5 girls now, 2 of us have passed. So, on a happier note, Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Hi Jackie---Thanks for the nice comments. I plan to make a window quilt with the Dresden plate blocks. These colors match my room. I have made 12 fifteen inch blocks. Then I quit and made other projects, but I will get back to it. I got me a new Pfaff Saturday. The little Passport. I am sure that I will love it. Good to hear from you. I have lived in Omaha, NE for over 10 years, so I know the winter is a good time to quilt..............as is any time.
This is beautiful. You have been busy. There is so many quilts to make and so little time and money for fabric. What kind of sewing machine do you use? I love the red quilt. Of course my favorite color is all tints of red!!
Hi, with a name like Jackie you must be an allright kind of person, lol. You certainly have a lot of beautiful photos on here. Did you make all of those quilts?Lucky you, got to meet Eleanor Burns. I love her shows on tv. Just wanted to say hi. Jackie
