Janet my pineapple quilt is lying ontop of my snowman quilt. The border that you see is the snowman quilt. Any ideas are appreciated.

janet my shawl is coming right along. The ladies at the knitting group was impressed. I am rather surprised at myself. Even though it wouldn't be hard for experienced knitters. I have to really concentrate.
About my pineapple quilt....I sewed on 2 borders(one small, next larger). Wasnt happy with them, so I ripped them off. I am gong to just add 2 more rows of pineapple blocks. Not really what I wanted but I can't find the right fabric for borders. I even took it to the quilt shop with me. What would your opinion be to do with it?

Hi Janet, thank you for the welcome. Are those Dear Jane blocks I see? I did a twin size version a few years ago and its still my favorite quilt. I loved working on it. I've seen the rel one at the Bennington Museum also and its stunning in person.

I just ordered the "Farmers' Wife Sampler" book from Connecting Threads and I plan to make that one too.

I also LOVE knitting and am very busy on the Ravelry site too. So nice to meet you!!

Hi Janet,

I am doing Dear Jane by machine. I made my first 5 blocks by hand, then decided to give up. There's enough hand work with the applique and the actual quilting! Thanks for your warm welcome.

LOL ... well, fist news of WWKIP day. Saturday we were out all day, at the picnic ... and I didn't take my knitting with me. Too bad. the coil is driving me crazy. I think I'm going to pull the stitches out onto a normal needle, try the hair dryer on the coil, and put them back on to the circular needle. I'm still on the increasing rounds but I've committed myself to finishing some projects and this is next on my list! How are you doing?

Hi Janet, WOW you've been busy. Looking at all your beautiful blocks. Well, I did it - - - I got my hair permed. Decided to try it for the summer. I'll send a pic whenever someone catches me for a picture. I'm afraid I don't look like I'm your sister anymore. Kathy

I saw that Bridal Sampler group. It brought my spirits up. It seems like Dear Jane is really the elite of quilting LOL. Don't you feel important now?? I certainly do!!
About that applique quilt ... large pieces are much easier that the tiny melons from DJ. And freezer paper is a big help, too.
I can't start anything else right now ... I'd be ashamed. I want to make a big quilt for Christmas, too. Let the bridal sampler wait for a while. Maybe for when I have a bride at home LOL.
