Hmm. When u say siggy blocks, would you be speaking of signature blocks and how does that work? Everyone makes the same block design and signs it and passes it to each member in the group?
I have to start the siggy blocks this weekend. I received a Accutquilt Go! for Christmas from my husband and I was planning on cutting the fabric (after I get it), which I ordered online, with the Go! I am very much looking forward to this quilt!! :) Just the thought of gathering the different siggs from all over the place it so wondergful!
I have been in a Guild in Watertown, and in Newton called Newton Patchwork. Life has gotten very busy and I have not been able to make it to any Guild meetings. The Newton group has openings and meets accross from the Horace Mann School on Watertown Street, in Newtonville. Much more of an older group, but wonderful women to chat with.
From the president "As a reminder to potential members, we meet at the Horace Mann Community Center, which is near the corner of Brookside Avenue and Watertown Street; when driving, enter Brookside Avenue from Washington Street. The entrance to the community center is off the parking lot which is on Brookside (but please park on the street)."
Regarding the guilds meetings "Their 2009-10 schedule will be, starting September 2nd (this is BEFORE Labor Day!!!), we will be meeting the first Wednesday of each month in the evenings (7:15PM), and the third Thursday of each month in the mornings (11AM). We realized when we looked at the calendar that, once in a while, we will end up having meetings 2 weeks in a row. "
ohhh, where in boston area are you? have u started your siggy blocks yet. i got about half done but i still have to sign them. i think it will be the neatest quilt when done; that is if i finish it
