About Me
I have been sewing all of my life practically, but just started quilting 5 years ago and fell in love with it. I am so addicted. Just to touch a piece of fabric makes me smile. I am just like all quilter's, I can never have enough fabric! I have so many quilt tops that I need to take the time to finish quilting....I love piecing tops. I rent a longarm to quilt my quilts and do quilt the smaller ones on my sewing machine.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, machine quilting, gardening
My pets are awesome!
Scoot, Aggie, and Ink and various chickens!

I am new to this site and have been really enjoying it......and the Christmas rush is beginning! I have been working on small projects for quite a few months, but now I am having to turn up the speed..... I just purchased a Christmas Quilt Kit a few weeks ago from Connecting Threads...I have never ordered from them before, but I must say I am really impressed with their fabric and directions so far and as far as it being a kit the ample amount of material they provide. This tree skirt quilt is… Continue

How are things going in your neck of the woods? Things are good here. Busy. Teaching quilting now in Waco. Went to Eleanor Burn's Quilt in a Day teaching seminar and am now a certified teacher. Loving it. Making all kinds of samples. We are doing a Five dollar block club and and a Block of the Month club starting the first of the year. I will be quilting my fingers to the bone getting ready for those and planning my other two classes for each month. Hope your Thanksgiving Day has been a great one. Take care of you.

Jeananne, I was looking at your tree skirt which I love by the way but wanted to know about the quilt underneath. Are the stems and leaves embroidered on it or did you applique? I am about to do something like that on the quilt that I am doing for my DB and SIL and I am going to applique. One of the girls suggested taking it to the embroidery and design place and get them to embroider but I would not be real happy with that. Well now why I came in the first place. Wishing you a very happy birthday and hope you enjoy your special day!

Hi Jeananne,
Wanting to wish you an early happy birthday! I took a few minutes to look at your quilts - really beautiful. I also ordered the Christmas Tree skirt, its for my Mother in Law for this Christmas. What did you think of the pattern? Would you change anything? Hope you have a great day tomorrow.

Hi Jeananne ~ thank you for your kind words about my annies. I do love creating them. Keeps me in touch with my girlhood! Though they are not from a kit, I do use a lovely pattern designer called Oh Sew Dollin'. She has loads of patterns - one cuter than the next. Here is her link if you're interested. It's just fun to browse her site just to see all the pretties that she has created. Enjoy! http://www.ohsewdollin.com/

And happy new year!

Good to hear from you Jeananne, I can certainly agree with turning the speed up, as I have been quilting night and day to get everyones quilts out for the holidays. I am on the last two and should have both done in the next day or so. I will not accept any more until after the first of the year. I am working on my own quilts for my family, and have really enjoyed the piecing. And of course quilting the tops also. I have not posted any of my albums of quilts that I have done. I am like you I do not know my way around as of yet. I have some of the quilts I have done on facebook. Keep in touch! Longarmed and dangerous.......MJ
