Over a year and a half ago when Richard from The Design Library was in town to show us vintage artwork, we ended up leasing a very special piece.  The focal in Indigo Patchwork looks very different now than…

A tour of The Design Library print studio

A month ago I went to New York for vacation and just prior to me leaving I got a "touch base" email from a print studio we work with there. I let them know I would be in New York that following week and was encouraged to come see their offices. They're based out of upstate New York and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to fit it into my schedule. It took a little planning, but I got a few friends together and was able to make a road trip out of it.

The studio is called The…

Fall Pin Cushions for Gifty!!

Judy and I decided to collaborate on a Gifty Galore project, since I love to embroider and she loves to sew.  It was a win win situation!  Generally we only choose a project out of one of the new books that we are going to showcase.  But in this case we chose a project from a book as well as tying it to a pin cushion pattern we carry.

When we flipped through…

Jeni;

Thanks for the kind suggestion.  I did that and am waiting patiently.  I have made the Vintage Book bag in other fabrics (not CT) and they are so cute.  I wanted to make them for my Book Club group for Christmas gifts, but may have to settle for other fabrics than the ones I love in the Bookish collection.  I did find an Alexander Henry fabric called Somerville Study and alas that too was sold out.  I think library book themes are very popular;  yet I cannot find ones that don't look like old leather bound library books.  Your collection was so perfect, so vintage-I fell in love with it!  I hope I get some from a generous donor, keeping my fingers crossed!

Would love to purchase some Bookish fabric.  Any chance that might happen or am I going to have to "shelve" that idea?

Jenni, I saw that your Rhapsody in Red and blue lines have come back to connecting threads.com and can i just say thank you.  I love this collection and can't seem to buy enough of it.  I made sure that I bought lots this time.

i can live with not immediately as long as the white on white one comes out again. It was one of my favorite whites ever and I am totally stuck in the middle of a project that I was using it in.  I am so far into the project that turning back isn't an option and any other fabric at this point would make it look off. I had bought plenty for the project unfortantely I cut a set of 80 squares the wrong size. So now i don't have enough to finish my stars. I am so excited that the line will be returning.  I could use more of all of it.

Jenni-  I love your Rhapsody in Red collection especially the white on white paisleys.  I am in desperate need of 1 yard of the white on white.  Do you know where i could find it?  Or if it even exists out there still. I would be ever so grateful if you could help me out.

re: whirlwind romance....my mind works overtime when it comes to fabric....if they dismantled the bag kit in this line and recut all the fabric in the kit they could make more samplers which would sell out again!! just an idea.( I would really like a warning if they decide to do this LOL) plus you could give your mom her fq set :o)

re romance: boo hoo!!!!!

can you not get more of the focal fabric made? I guess I can order fq, I wanted charms and a stack.... oh well.....has any other fabric sold this quickly? just curious, I have been following nearly 2 years and do not recall a big sell out like this.

There was also a cool kit that sold out very fast in the whisper colourway, it was all squares on point....is it possible to post the pattern on the kitmaker?
