Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I'm thankful to the Lord for my sweet husband. I'm thankful for all that I have, much more than what I actually need.

An opinionated lady at the quilt shop

I just thought I would share this with you. I'm sure that no one on this site would ever behave this way! I went searching for some fabric to make a baby quilt for our son and daughter in law. She has a unique taste and I wondered how this would all go together, but when you see it, it is quite nice. I picked out some batiks in the colors to match the paint swatches she had given me and had it fixed in my mind how I would put it together. However, this lady (a customer) told me in no uncertain… Continue

New projects to look forward to

Posted on May 16, 2010 at 4:19pm 6 Comments

Just found out we are having a new grandbaby in the family in about 7 months. Perfect opportunity to make a quilt, perhaps a diaper bag, etc. What fun...looking forward to it.

Tax Season Winding Down

Just a few more days, and I'll be able to get back to sewing something. I feel like I have been buried for the last couple of months. I have, however, made a point of purchasing the "Fixit Fabric" so that I could sew a small wall hanging for my brother who loves carpentry and wood projects. Just have to do the binding.

Miss my sewing time

I have to say I am missing not having time or energy sewing and quilting lately. I do accounting and tax work so I am extremely busy at this time of the year. Trying to figure out how I can make my hobby earn money for me!, rather than toiling away at numbers. I'm very tired this week and feeling quite brain dead.

The great thing about visiting a quilter's page is seeing all their wonderful quilt projects!  It's like going to a quilt show every day.  Very nice work.  Loved the brown butterfly bag & table runners.  The "favorite things" tool wallhanging made me giggle - and of course now the tune is running through my head.  :)  Happy quilting!

Hi Jennie, my log cabin window valance is just hung on a regular, old fashioned curtain rod through a sleeve on the back.

Hi, the 25th or so sounds good on my end. We are returning here on the 23rd from our next little trip. Will you have internet access as you are traveling?? Should I send you my phone number?? When are you leaving? I am going to hope we can work something out to meet up when you are in the area. I have a niece and her family staying with me right now. They are from Illinois and visiting here and going to the Creation Museum tomorrow. Talk to you soon.

Hi Jennie, I just got home from our annual 4th July camping trip with about 14 of our friends from church. It is always a great time.
Your trip sound across country sounds great. We love camping. We have only gone as far as Branson Missouri, though with our camper but maybe someday we will venture a little farther. We stay pretty close to home but we do love camping. we are going out again July 20 with 3 of our grandchildren. Again, staying close to home but returning on July 23. I would love to be able to meet up if the timing works out. We can stay in touch via cell phone as you see how your trip is progressing. What is your final destination before turning around and going home?? How long is your trip planned for?? It all sounds great and would love to meet you.

Hi Jennie, how very nice to communicate with you. Yes, I have been to the Creation Museum and yes, we do live near it. I am just north of Cincinnati which is in the southwest corner of Ohio where Ohio, Indiana and Ky. come together. The museum is just across the Ohio line in Hebron, Ky and it is about 45-50 minutes from my home. I do hope you will make your trip across country and I think the museum is worth every minute you are there. It will take an entire day to see and absorb it, so in your plans, don't think a couple of hours will cover it. I am a Christian and wholly believe in the Creator God who made this universe and this museum does provide alternative explanations for the evolution hypothesis. I thought it was very good. As you make your plans and if you do come here, please keep me posted. I would love to be able to meet up with you. And I would love to help you in any other way I could in this area. Thanks for contacting me and I love your quilts. I especially am drawn to the black and white quilt and the red and black table runner. Gorgeous! Let's keep in touch!

Jenny, you have beautiful work in your album. My favourite is the red and black table runner.
My mother has never asked to come home with me. I think that would be kind of hard to deal with for me. I take her out each Friday for lunch and get her hair done.
I also go in and take her to some of the activities they have just to get her out of the room. She would not do anything if I didn't do it that way.
I do a lot of sewing and I work 2 short shifts each week in the fabric store.
