About Me
I have been quilting for 16 years and am a confirmed Fabricaholic and Quiltaholic. I was perfectly happy with my smallish house until I started quilting. No longer was the master bedroom big enough for the bed, the dresser, the 'office', the bookshelf, AND my quilting corner. After several years of fighting to stay organized, I finally decided to transform the never-used formal living room into my sewing room. Now, as soon as anyone walks in my front door, they know what I do - Quilt! I now have a dedicated quilting table, an adjustable ironing table, four bookshelves filled with fabric, books, and patterns, and several storage bins for all those necessary quilting extras. Now, THIS is the way to live!

January 2011

It's been awhile since I lasted posted. Since then, I've made the Celtic Knot Quilt and the McKenna Ryan Christmas wall hanging, plus I'm working on a Starr Design block of the month. Oh yeah, and I have the blocks made for an argyle quilt. I so love having quilts finished, in progress, just started, and future ones cogitating in my brain. Plus, I keep learning new techniques with every quilt and discovering new designs or fabric I can't wait to make. One of these days - no doubt in the far… Continue

New Quilt Given Away

Posted on July 7, 2009 at 2:02am 1 Comment

Hip, Hip, Hooray! I finally finished the ABC Quilt aka Love, Laugh, Learn for my 18 month old great-niece. What fun it was to find the "right" coordinating fabrics for the abc fabric. Is it hard for everyone to give their "creations" away? I have no earthly need for a toddler quilt, yet it was hard to say good-bye to it as I handed it over to the toddler's grandparents. At least they loved it, too, as I am sure the baby and Mom will.

Crooked Camera

One of these days I really have to buy a camera that knows how to take non-crooked, non-off kilter photos of my quilts. I swear I don't make crooked quilts. And it can't be operator error - I hold that camera as straight as can be. It is definitely the camera's fault. Darned crooked camera.

Hi Joanne!  Sorry, I just saw your comment on my POTC blocks!  POTC means Patchwork of the Crosses which was originally done by Lucy Boston using English Paper Piecing.  I did mine by machine using Inklingo as my helper rather than hand piecing with EPP.  I learned how to do Y seams in a big hurry lol

Joanne, Thank you for the compliment on my "Simply Radiant-September BOM."  I need to get caught up on these Carol Doak blocks.

Your work is beautiful.  I have not attempted a McKenna Ryan piece, but I do so enjoy looking at them.
