Hi Joyce, Hope all is well and you got inspiration from the retreat. How is your quilting coming along? weather does not ssound too good for the weekend. but soon it will be better. The month of March never seems to know if it wants to behave or be nice! Have a great weekend.
Hi joyce, I haven't been on for ahile. i worked all last week and this week i have been spring cleaning. My daughters came last weekend and totally organized my sewing room. it was a mess and now it is awesome. everything has a place. i have been to conrad and i love the fabric store there. i made a block for the dirt days quilt that is hanging up in there that they are going to raffle off at the dirt days festival. it turned out fantastic. i will have to check out your daughter in law's restaurant some time when i go there. i have also had labels made there for two of my quilts those ladies are super nice. I hope you have been enjoyiing this wonderful sunshine. take care. nancy

She makes me getup and get outside .I have a feeling that this hobby and this group of sisters is really going to up lift you I hope so! Paula J
I know what you mean about the fabric in kits not being right. I like the idea of kits, because everything should be in there. But, the last few kits I've done, I was short on material and had to go searching for something that would go with the quilt.
Hi Joyce, I am sorry to hear about your son. That must have been very hard for you. I have been to that quilt shop in conrad and i love it. as a matter of fact i contributed a block to their dirt days quilt that is hanging up in there now. i had never done that before and it was so neat to be apart of thatl. i have had some labels made there for two of my comforters that i have made and they looked really nice. i am 50 years old and work full-time as well. I have 3 grown children 2 grand children and one on the way, due in august. My husband drives a semi for Casey's and i am an LPN at a nursing home. I am happy to make your acquaintance and look forward to building a friendship with you. today i spent with my daughter and we went to this awesome quilt shop in Pella and then on to newton. now i am home and sitting in my sewing room dreaming of all the projects i want to get done. :) i hope you have a great night.
hiJoyce, I am Paula Jones from southern Iowa. Centerville. It is nice to meet you,I have been quilting and do hand sewing for some years but still feel as if I am a beginner. I stay in my safety box of easy! with this group I hope I will gain some confidence and try some harder projects. I am amazed at the talented ones and the beautiful quilts they have completed. What have you got started on? Have you taken any classes or are you just learning by reading books? I have never had any classes I am sure they woould help. Just learning all the new tools is a job. I have the tern jellyroll,i have no idea what that is. Just looked at the clock, the eve has flew by and it is hardfor me to get up with this new time Bye for now...Paula Jones
Joyce, Im so sorry for your loss. That had to be really tuff to get thru. If you are like me, sewing is good theropy.
I happen to be training for a new job at Qwest and I really hate it. My sewing keeps me sane. Im just glad I dont have long til retirement. At least if this really gets me down I can leave. I know that doesnt compare to what you have been thru but non quilters dont understand what pleasure and comfort we get from quilting do they?? I hope you are having a great week. Im really looking forward to the weekend.
Talk to you later, Rhonda
