Judith, I'm so glad to hear that you are able to get around with your leg brace. I broke my leg one time and had to wear a cast and I know how difficult it is to lose the use of your limbs. I will be praying for you to gain strength each day and get your health back. God bless you as you heal.

Hi Judith. You asked how DH is doing after his stroke. He has plateaued. We wish he would regain some of the use if left arm and hand, but to no avail. We would like to try one of the special brace apparatuses to help with his left drop foot, but cannot afford it on our own and the insurance will not pay anything as it is still considered experimental. His favorite thing to do with bubble wrap is run over it with his power chair. I have a friend who worked on her fine hand motor skills until she could use a special rotary cutter and then a needle and thread to at least finish sewing bindings on quilts. For a long time she would ask someone else to cut her fabric and she would sew tops together on her sewing machine.
Continue to hang in there, and remember every recovery is different.
