Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving too. This is such a great site. There is so much here. I have stumble on to these great groups and gone to other peoples pages under Members and seen some pretty nice work I like to see how others work with color. Get great ideas. Karen, I live 3 miles north of La Fontaine, 13 miles from Marion. I've been to Fairmount many many times. This is so cool. Not to scare you, I won't show up on your doorstep with my tongue hanging out like a lost puppy make that an old hound. It's just fun when you know where someone lives and especially if it is close to you. What a wonderful day! I don't know why it just dawned on me this morning where you live other than I'm an old hound dog HA HA Beth

I'm so glad you've joined us! Quilting is a fantastic hobby! (Okay, so I'm a little biased.) You'll find that there are lots of wonderful people all throughout this website ready and willing to help you, so don't be afraid to ask.
You mentioned wanting some tutorials and videos with quilting tips. If you click on the "learn" tab at the top there are a few for you to take a look at, and we're adding more all the time.

I do enjoy quilt shops, but do not belong to a guild. We used to pass by Fairmount...home of James Dean, whenever we were driving to Angola while my son was going to college there. I live about 30 min south-east of Muncie.

Oaktown is about an hour from Evansville and 2 1/2 hrs. from Indianapolis. I've heard of Fairmont but I'm not sure where it's at.

I don't have a pattern I just made it up . I hope to sell it for 50 dollars thats what I get for all my lap quilts. Some one on here told me I am selling them to cheap but I really just make my quilts out of scraps most of the time.
