I lived in Phoenix from '75 to '80 and then I moved to Vegas for 2 years. I've been stuck here in Daytona since 1982 with a few trips out west since 2003. My 21 year old daughter just moved back home, so there goes my idea of a sewing room LOL. She's still going to school and hoping to get into a nursing program. I'm an RN and I work for a hospice. It's the best job I've had in my 19 years of being a nurse.
How old is Liam? Is he excited about becoming a big brother? Congrats on the coming grandchild! Take care, Susan

Hi Karen! I'm really jealous that you live in AZ although I'll be out that way in March. My sister is in the Az Army Nat'l Guard in Phoenix, so my youngest child and I are going to visit her, then go up to Sedona, Grand Canyon and over to NM. Anyway, I'm new to quilting, but I have always had "how to" books on quilting. Now I'm stockpiling fabric AKA making a "stash", LOL. Take care!

I would love to have a 90 gallon pond of goldfish. :-) Actually, I would like to have anything besides this grass and hole (courtesy of Daisy) She invents a new one every day for me to fill - I just can't keep up though cuz she digs more than one a day...LOL. And no chickens - yet - because I'm afraid my dogs would kill them. But I would sure love to have their eggs.

Hi, Karen. I'm down here in SE NM sweltering in 100+ temps for the last week and some. While I love the SW, I can't stand not being able to enjoy the summer weather like in New England. When it got too hot, I'd pack the boys in the car and head for the beach - 1 hour away.

Instead I "live" in my sewing room while the DH is in his mancave(aka computer room) and the AC is hummin'!

Anyway, welcome to SW Quilters.

Well, if your five dogs is a breeding program gone awry, then how do I explain my four dogs, four cats, five birds, and assorted other pets?...LOL I think the gerbils would be the closest to breeding gone awry - there are four youngsters born June 1st, and now six babies born July 7th. I usually try to have the babies during the school year so students can adopt them..oops..Oh well, they are so darn cute! Welcome!

Hi, Karen.

Thanks for joining the business group. I hope it will be encouraging for you to start working on your dream.

My dream started last month. I got all the paperwork together and have been sewing daily to build up an inventory to show to merchants of local specialty shops. Tomorrow I am visiting my first merchant.
Hopefully, all will go well.

This group is great for sharing ideas, and it's great to have you part of it. Welcome!
