About Me
I am a born-again quilter. I started quilting in High School, and quilted from 1975 - 1990 until my two daughters lives got busy and my quilting time ended. I am a small business owner who works way too much so until two years ago I still did not find the time to do much more then work and build my business. The event that got me back into quilting was the death of my Mom who passed way way too fast from cancer. SHE was the quilter in our family and she was waiting to retire to REALLY have time to quilt. She passed away 6 months before her retirement and her words to me was NOT TO WAIT to do something you love - you may miss your chance. She blessed me with the stash and everything I needed for a life time and all the motivation to get back what I love to do. I miss her every momnet of the day but know she speaks to me through the fabric and projects I am learning and enjoying. I joined the Quilt Guild in my town and am know surrounded by new "Mom's" who are teaching me so many new things. I am blessed to be a born-again Quilter.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, paper piecing, crazy quilting

Almost fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July - quilters! Aren't we blessed to live in a counrty that allows us to do so many things freely - even quilting! I know I am blessed everyday - being able to gather with so many great friends in my guild (freedom to assemble) the ability to LEARN and BUY what ever we need to be successful and enjoy my obsession. HURRAY America!

I am planning our Round Robin Retreat for the 7th of July in a wonderful Cabin/house in "Plain Washington" and after our wild little… Continue

I have been recieving Counting Threads for a couple of years and just now went to the website and found "quilt with us" section. LOVE IT!!! I plan to tell all my quilt friends about it so we can keep up with each others projects. I will use it to send my family and friends to also - they will be able to keep up with what I am doing with my obsession.

Yes! What a cute store! The Cherry Pit has much the same "flavour" as the knitting shop my daughter frequents in Toronto. There is a circle of easy chairs in the centre and everyone brings their knitting and chats and has coffee, and sweets, etc. there is always someone to help in the shop or give advice to each other and newer knitters. I even go and take my quilting sometimes, although I may end up keeping track of my DGD's (6 & 2) if we happen to have brought them along!

Thanks for getting back to me! It was a great time in Tenn. and then we went on to Fla. where the weather was fabulous! It was a long drive, but the scenery was worth it! I hadn't done the road trip to the south before. We loved seeing the redbud trees and the dogwood - and trillium (flower of Ontario too!)
I got a lot of hand quilting done on my Stack n Whack in the evenings while we were away, and my friend did some cross stitching.
Are you working on your new project yet, or on something else?

Hi Kate,
I've added your show to our events calendar. Please note our events software requires start and end times. Since I didn't have any, I entered 1am to 1am so it's obvious that it's wrong. Let me know if you'd like me to add hours.
