I need some help. I have an old quilt that my husband's grandmother made for him out of fabrics from the farm and curtains that hung in his room. (Fabrics are at least 50 years old. ) This is vintage feedsack material for the most part. Whatever she used for the batting is a mess. I'm wanting to remove the layers and reinforce the stitching on the 9 patches as some are coming apart. However, I read that if you put new fabric in an old quilt it's no longer old. At present it's waddled up in a sto… Continue

Hi Kathryn, thanks for the kind comments. I bought the star table runner pattern at the NQA show in Columbus OH last summer. But it's available online, I'm sure. It's called Star Chain by Barbara Cline - in her Delightful Piecing line. I want to make one for myself in red/white/blue for the 4th of July! Thanks again. Carol
Actually I found a link http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_dept_items.asp?Store_id=701&page_id=17
Look under tablerunners - it's probably available elsewhere too I'm sure.

LOL - do you know my dad? You have him pegged perfectly!
Kathryn, I am just taking sign-ups now. We will not mail out the blocks until March 1st. You have plenty of time if you want to join. The pic on the blog I posted is a pic of the pattern. The pattern is not a 4-Patch stack n whack but we will put the stack n whack blocks where the 10" blocks of flowers are. There is a lot more information on Stack N Whack Group!! Thanks for your interest

It is amazing how much more relaxed the home is, now that Dad has moved. We felt it immediately. He is such a needy, high maintenance person who needs all the attention on him. He is not a bad man, but very needy. I look forward to good time with Mom and getting her more active again. Thank you.
BTW--we lived in Homer for two years and absolutely loved it. When DH retired we wanted to move back so badly, but with two in college in the lower 48 and elderly parents as well, it just wasn't the right decision. Still, I miss it--I've lived in Georgia off and on most of my life, but Alaska is still my heart's home.
Kathryn--thank you for your kind words. I think if we all remembered to put people before things, we would have a much happier world. Well, duh! When I was growing up, my DM would tell us we could go on a picnic IF we got the house cleaned up on Saturday. We would work and work for hours, then wait for her to fry chicken and make potato salad. We would leave on our picnic about 5:00--and have to be back by 7 for Daddy to get ready for Sunday. Her intentions were good, I know, but it made me determined, when I grew up, that I wouldn't live that way. Our picnics have always been sandwiches--if we had fried chicken it was the Colonel's--but I know we built some very happy memories for our children.
HI Kathy, I thought I would let you know the Tin Lizzie is set up and so far I like it. Will take a bit to get familiar with it. Winter is a great time to learn it. Your Frieend in Montana Irene
Loved that comment regarding the "first name", since you and I are both Kathryn (although mine is in the middle!) which is not that common. What made me love the comment even more - the friend I was with? Her name is Kass - shortened from Kathryn!
We have toys too.two 4 wheelers,a Harley, a vintage car, older motorhome.Good think we have a big yardIf you do decide to get a tin lizzie at some point give them our names as we might get a little something for the sale LOL. I hope I will like it and have another friend who already has one besides the one getting one when I do. The place we called gave us the best price by far and does a lot of business.
