Hi Kathy, thanks for the compliments on the butterfly quilt. Yes, each butterfly was hand stitched down. Part of the reason I suspect different ladies worked on these is that the hand stitching is not the same on all the blocks, plus the muslin is not the same. I wish I had a better camera that would allow me to showcase the blocks a bit better. Have fun working on the quilt for your granddaughter. If you decide to use a fusible, use something like HeatnBond Lite as that will let you hand stitch them down using something like a blanket (buttonhole) stitch.
I got on here last night. I forgot all about this web site. Life just got in the way, nothing bad, just really busy. I posted a 3-D heart I did for my daughter in law. I'm always working on something sometimes good sometimes having a hard time. we all do that. At this time I'm working on a Spring wall hanging for my daughter then start another one for my daughter in law. My son and daughter in law also asked for a quilt for above the fireplace. That I hope to cut out this week. I'm going to try to keep up better. Enjoy sewing!

Back from Ca. and visiting with my sister. She really looks pretty good. She's lost about 20 lbs already, and all her hair. But she has a very good attitude, and is really giving it a good fight. She is able to walk a block in her neighborhood at present. But she says the hardest thing right now is the fatigue she feels. She's always been very active, was a runner when she was younger. So, that part is really hard to take.
So, thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. I had a safe trip out there, and my other sister and brother did too. The four of us enjoyed being together.
Hope you are doing well. And quilting, or just sewing up a storm!

Thanks for the kind words and prayers. Looks like our plans to see our sister will be in early May. Not too far away. And right now, she sounds good on the phone. So, hopefully, the chemo will do some good.
Gonna make me a nice tote bag to carry "stuff" on the plane. And something nice for her too.

Thank you for thinking of me. Right now, "life" has gotten in the way of things. Just found out my sister has been diagnosed with acute leukemia, and doesn't have much time left on this earth. My other sister, and my brother and I will be going to CA in early May to visit with her. Never had to deal with this type of situation before.......no cancer in our family. Mostly heart attacks that hit, and that's the end of that! None of this lingering illnesses.........oh my.
Glad to know how busy you are with your sewing. Sew up a seam or two for me too, okay?
