Hoffman Challenge

It is my understanding that Connecting Threads will carry the Hoffman Challenge fabric which is soon to be released (early November). Will we be able to order it online?

In the Spokane area there is only one shop that will have it as two shops went out of business that normally carry it... too sad.

Thank you...

I posted a note asking for ideas - I'm starting (or trying to) a group through my church. I offered to teach some basic quilting techniques and sewing for projects for practical gift ideas - totes, casserole carriers (we are big on pot lucks!), wall hangings, and other... the notice will be in this Sunday's bulletin at church. It is a very small church so we may not have many, but it is a beginning.

I want to thank those who responded to my post about this with suggestions about how to get star… Continue

threads from CT

I just want to tell you that if you haven't ordered the threads from CT - you are missing out on a huge value!

I ordered one thread set a while back - to try it out - and now am scrambling for more - I used it all up in a hurry - it is so awesome and my Pfaff machine loves it! The thread is strong and the colors are true values and don't "bleed" or fade.

I just placed an order - DH will faint because he doesn't know how fast thread can go! HA! - I ordered several sets this time - I'll have a n… Continue

Hi Kathy,
I'm so sorry I haven't checked my site until now. I'm not quite sure what you want an answer to. I know the our Slackers are great talkers and sometimes it is hard to find the info you want without going through a ton of pages. Anyway, if there is a question I can help you with, let me know and I will give it my best shot. I've been out of commission for a few weeks but am back now.

Good morning Kathy. Well, on my way to Oregon in the morning for a week of quilting. I love the threads of friendship quilting has brought me and I think that's why we continue to seek avenues to share our passion.

I don't know what area you live in but maybe next year you could join us at Quilting on the Mountain. I have a lady from Kremling CO who is coming in this year. Back country TN is trying to get on the map - ha, ha!

Have a great week - acknowledge and enjoy all the blessings coming your way!!!

Good morning, Kathy. It was good to hear your experiences. I am learning that everyone does have their own agendas and not to take it personally that not everyone shares my passions - since I will be 70 my next birthday it tells me I'm a slow learner - ha, ha.

I live out in the country so I am finding it a little challenging to find people who want to share the love and camaraderie of a little quilting community. I'll just do the footwork and give it to God!

Think we may try a group who want to participate in the Quilts for Injured Soldiers project that is so dear to me. I'll just toss it out there and see what happens.

I'm leaving Friday for a visit to Oregon - with one of my favorite quilting buddies and as soon as I get back I will be at Quilting on the Mountain - a 4 day retreat I attend every year. Then I can work on organizing my group in earnest.

Have a great day full of God's blessings.

Hi Kathy, Looks like your 1st one was a little more complicated than mine was. I liked them and the colors you chose.

Hi kathy, Thank you for your comments on my quilts. It always makes the quilter feel good when someone else likes them, too. I browsed thru your quilts and like them. Your kind will be great when finished. I've made 3 of them, the last 2 in 3 sections. It makes it so much easier to quilt when it isn't so big. Then after I sew them together, I just have to quilt that area. Which one is your 1st? Happy quilting.

Have you caught up on cool weather--it must be a real joy to be back in that cool, balmy climate!! Hope that you had a great time with family and that your Dad is feeling up to strength before you had to leave? We're roasting in Texas, I suspect that Florida was much the same. The drought is going to ruin the fireworks for the fourth--as well as the farmer's crops and all the lawns. Oh well, either we have too much rain, or not enough--but we have much to be thankful for--PTL!!

Hi Kathy. My colors for SBS may wind up all over the place. Most of the blocks I have looked at the colors they have used, and then gone to my stash to pull something in the same family. Or, if I don't' like what they used, i do my own, like Amethysts are violet. I also like to use a lot more yellow and orange than most people. Teals and Aquas have always been favorite colors of mine.
