Quilting has been my hobby for over ten years. I lead a group of ladies who make quilts for children's charities. With donated scrap fabrics, we have been able to make over one hundred quilts per year for needy children.
Counting the charity quits and those I've made for children, grandchildren, and friends, I've completed over 240 quilts! I've discovered a hobby that is great for those long cold days of winter.

Thanks for your reply. I have heard of many people loving their old Kenmores! I have the new Bernina 830 and she still frightens me at times. I bought it when they first came out and you had a choice of a cabinet, software or quilting frame. I got the quilting frame. Now that is very frightening!!!! I have done three quilts on the frame...it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. I also have the Bernina Artista 730. You are a special soul to make quilts for those in need.
Thank you and you are welcome! I made bags for all the ladies on my Christmas list this past year. I have 5 brothers and 5 sisters and all but one is married. I also have 2 SILs on Hubby's side. I made 1 as a teachers gift and did pillowcases as gifts for the mail carriers andwaitress where we eat at regularly.
I showed my husband the placemats and he was really jealous! He also remembered that I have some panels with bears and moose on them and thought why don't I make him some placemats out of those. I knew I shouldn't have shown him :)
