Hello, Kay--I will be praying for you and your husband as you begin this process. My DH and I are still unpacking after going through the process you are starting. We've been here for a little over a month and are so pleased with our new home and new town. My best advice to anyone in your shoes would be to commit to lots of prayer and lots of time. We thought we would move in a few weeks, but actually moved over a year and a half later (not to discourage you--God just slowed us way down, for our sakes and our children's). I will pray for you this morning and make a point of watching for your updates. Bless you--

We try to visit a couple of times a year. It is hard to get visits in with family all over the country. My family lives in Illinois, my husbands parents are in Tennesee and his brother and sisters live in Virginia and Indiana and Nebraska. I love hearing how your new quilting group is doing, I can't imagine finding the time to quilt with ten kids but I am sure therapeutic for you. LOL

Kay What part of Texas do you live in? My daughter lives in Austin and my son lives near Denton. It is raining cats and dogs here in Arkansas. We are greatful as it was really starting to get dry. It seems however that down here it is feast or famine when it comes to the weather........................really really hot or really really wet! I am originally from Nothern Illinois so this is a bit different for me

That wasn't nosy. I live on the eastern side of the state 90 minutes north of Milwaukee. Yes, that side of the state is just beautiful, with all the hills and trees! My son in law is from LaCrosse originally. I haven't been to his hometown yet (Onalaska), but years ago, as a family, we traveled in the general area when we took a trip to Eau Claire, then to MN, then down to IA and came back through WI and went through Richland Center. Somehow we got on some highway that was constant twists and turns and continually went downhill, this went on for over an hour, so we finally pulled into a gas station to find a 'straighter' path!

Yes, WI is short for Wisconsin. My daughter and her husband and infant son lived in Iowa City, IA for two years, moved back here a year ago.
Your Bee Keepers group sounds like fun! Anxious to see pictures of your work!

Welcome Kay! I am a hand quilter because I can take it with me to work...I am a school bus driver, and I WAIT alot! I am a school bus driver because I needed to find a way to support my 2 boys after my husband died in an accident. I homeschooled my youngest, because my youngest was having problems at school, and the L*rd layed it on my heart to do so. I think you will find many likeminded individuals here.

Hello, Kay--I'm so glad you've joined the handquilters' group. I have really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I'm about to take my youngest to college, having finished up 17 years of home schooling. I already miss it--except for teaching pre-calculus last year! I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Kay:
Welcome to the Quilt Frame. I love the fact that you are a home schooler. God bless you. My husband taught in the public school system for 31 years and often says if he had it to do over, he'd have home schooled the kids. I have to agree.

Sounds like your days are very full and rewarding. I hope you are also aware of the Vintage Quilt group here. We look forward to chatting and sharing our great love of hand quilting. Again, welcome to the Quilt Frame - I'm so glad you are part of this group. Joyce

Welcome to QWU. Kay,
I just read your comment on the blogs page where you say you're a handquilter.
Did you know that there is a Group for all us handquilters?? We'd love to have you sign up and join in the discussions. I'm sure you've discovered by now that we don't just talk about quilting on QWU, and you'll find that is true in this Group - we talk about a little bit of everything.
Hope you decide to join in the Group.
