I taught myself cross stitch, then blackwork caught me, then embroidery, then knitting... quilting is the one major thing I have always wanted to do but had no clue how to start. So I am about to- with paper piecing! Might as well go all out and hand sew a quilt! :)

Good morning from Maine, USA...wishing a wonderful day as you celebrate your birthday....Been to Toronto a couple of times....In Maine today it is 27 degrees but a promise of sun and that is always nice...to begin quilting find a shop and sign up for one of their classes...it will get you started or a friend...I am in lots of groups and that is where I learn so much and it is always fun...right now it is Christmas parties and finishing up our projects...Have a great day...blessings in the New Year.....

just came across your profile and wanted to say...GOOD FOR YOU!!!you hand quilt that first quilt!! i am self taught in everything i do, and while my technique may not be textbook, i am still pretty darn pleased with myself for doing it on my own, and you should be too!!

OOPS, it is not at connectingthreads.com it's a paperpieces.com, they also sell the already made packages for the size hex's you need. I tried the ruler way when I started, boring, it's just easier to order them. Also, MSdesigns has a site for EPP w/free workshops and she also sells the EPP templates for EPP.
