I know, I know! This is a quilt site, BUT experience taught me that quilters are very often creative in other areas too! My question is: are any of you familiar with a beaded doily? Did your mom or granny use them too? For some reason I am not able to post the picture here, but you will find a pic on my page. I didn't crochet this doily myself, but inherited it from my granny who died at the age of 89 a few years ago. People from those "long ago" times used these doilies to cover their…

I made this sewing "bagsket" with my embroidery machine.
It is a combination between a bag and basket and is ideal to take your FQ's or sewing things to class! Pics of all the panels are on my profile. (There are 6 different…

My first little Christmas gift...the "in the hoop" Owl Sewing Kit. I enjoyed it tremendously to make this little fellow!!
Doesn't he look very wise with his big eyes and "glasses"? When he closes his wings, all the sewing things are kept safe.

HI LANIE - WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. I don't go on this site much anyone - no one seems to want to chat anymore. I hope you are well. I'm doing good. Love you, Becky
Hi Lanie! Merry Christmas to you and your family! It's been a long time since we corresponded. I haven't forgotten about you and all your kindness and prayers when I was sick. I'm doing well, thank the Lord. I have finished a new quilt called Birds and Berries and have posted it on my page. I hope you will take a look at it. What are you working on these days? Have a wonderful Christmas! Love, Becky
Hello my friend Lanie! How are you? I hope well. I am doing fine. Have good days and bad days because of lack of energy and my muscles and joints hurt. it's a side effect of the medicine I have to be on for 5 years. I just love your little Owl you have in your pictures. May I ask where you found the pattern? He's really cute. I'm working on an Irish Chain Quilt in greens for my daughter. It's going really well. We are all hoping for warmer weather - today being the first day of Spring here - we are all tired of snow LOL. What have you been up to? Take care and was thinking of you and just had to write - Hugs, Becky xoxoxoxoxo
Hello Lanie! It's been ages since we talked. I am doing o.k. Finished up chemo in October, then had 2 surgeries and then radiation. I am not back to work yet. Now I have been having sinus headaches and am headed to doctor again today. Medicine he gave me helped but never completely took headaches away and they are back in my eyes again and forehead. I LOVE your owl - I'd love to have the pattern! My e-mail is sewingcrafts@msn.com if you would like to share. I hope you and your family are all well. Hugs to you, Becky Carmichael
Good morning Lanie, It's been awhile since I seen any post from you and wondering how things are going with you. I suppose it getting fall over there as Spring is around the corner here. I just made another one of those purses, like the one you made. I have made three for myself but ended up giving them away so I'm hoping this one I will be able to keep. I have another purse cut out and ready to start sewing for my friend in Indiana. Her birthday is April 1st so I decided I needed to get cracking on that. I have had a great Winter, We have had very little snow, some nice warm days in the 40's and 50's F but also some very cold days mixed in. I hope your having a wonderful Summer and doing allot of fun things. I'm looking forward to the Shop Hop coming up the end of April and also a visit with my friend Jenny from England, who is coming in Aug. for two weeks. Hugs ~ Irene
I love your pictures Lanie! The country lane blocks are super cute. The batik quilt is great as well. Thanks for accepting my friend request. I hope you are doing well.
Dear Lanie, Have you received your blocks 3 & 4 yet? They were mailed on 10-10-11. Carol
PS I love the blocks you are doing for your SS. I wish I had drawn you for my SS! I am so lucky to see them before everyone else.
