Vacation and quilting

I wish I could quilt on vacation. My family and I (minus the hubby) just went on a 1 week vacation to New Orleans and Breaux Bridge, LA for good food, fun and crawfish!!! And, yet - here I was thinking about quilting the whole time!

Hey Diddle Diddle

I FINALLY got around to taking a picture of my baby quilts I'm making. I have three friends having babies this spring/summer so I made them each one. Still need to quilt it, but the tops are done.

If you've never made a t-shirt quilt before...

...you should do it!!! It is such a great way to reach out into new areas of creativity. I'm kind of a perfectionist but I've never thought of myself as very creative. I was always (and, I guess, still am) a "buy a pattern and coordinating fabric kind of person." However, my sister asked me to make a t-shirt quilt for her out of all her old high school and college t-shirts that she doesn't wear. I go 2 times a year for a retreat it is a block from the quilt store trouble trouble. But at least it is easy to hide the fabric to bring home.

I had a friend help me clean my sewing room while I was on vacation. It looked great but everything was a jumble in boxes. Now I am putting fat squares together by color, and flannels together and smaller pieces are also getting organized as suggested in the magazine. Unfortunately, many were crumbled and I have to rewash and iron. I shall be done soon as I am on the last leg. I love the classes at Heirloom Creations. Their new place is great. Hope you enjoy the class. Maybe one day in the future we will be in the same class. Yolanda

He griped for 25+ years. I told him since he thinks HIS method is so much better than mind, Laundry is now his new job. YOU SHOULD SEE OUR LAUNDRY ROOM. TONADO ALLEY. (of cource I do my own and he has no clue ) I've been know to go out and buy new towels rather than put a load of towels in. We've gone from one sheet of really nice sheets to 5. He couldn't figure out what was charged on his debit card and when I told him, HE washed sheets. It's kinda funny. Hard not to go into the laundry room and take over, but not a chance. I guess that's one reason your blog hit a funny cord with me. OH, guess what....dishes are NOW one of his new jobs. I cook he cleans. Dirty dishes in the sink, NO dinner. So far so good. Guys! Can't live with them and can't shoot them. (kidding--been married 33 years and he's a keeper...at least most of the time)
