Hi Laura...thank you very much for the block. I really like the colors and your fabrics....don't be intimidated by our group...there are all skill and interest levels and nobody is judgemental - I've been beading for quite awhile now and it's not very difficult - check out some of the online tutorials or YouTube. There are also a ton of books and YouTube videos on threadpainting. If you're in the Techniques4Textiles group, we're doing a bunch of new techniques for all of us. Right now we're on the free motion quilting, playing with the feet we have with our sewing machine feet. Thanks again, Barb
Good Morning from Maine....have a wonderful birthday celebration doing those things you really enjoy....'today is the first day of the rest of your life' ...just love your style of quilting....and it looks like you love the Lord as I do....His Blessings in the coming year..
WooHoo! Congratulations! That's just great news!
I originally bought the first full bolts thinking of backings, too. I've made lots of quilts, so there shouldn't be any reason to still have those same bolts! LOL I've got this thing about the backing matching and not being something I'd hate to look at! As a matter of fact, I have a quilt on a guest room bed that was a BOM from JoAnn's. I bought it *all at once* using a coupon and when it was discounted big time! Finally got the thing done (I'd forgotten all bout it til I saw the finished quilt on someone else's page on here!) and added extra borders so it would fit a queen size bed. The last guest that used the room had it on the bed UP-SIDE-DOWN! I couldn't believe it. How on earth could you do that?! LOL I can only think they were afraid of getting it dirty! : O
Laura Your quilts are just beautiful and I have visited alot of sites just looking. Yours inspire me they are so about people of color. I love them and will ask for advise from you, since I am so new to quilting. Where do you get your material especially the faith and inspirational saying? Cleta
