Looking at all the beautiful quilts posted makes me drool!
Sometimes I just get tired of the quilt I am making. This must be why I have three tops to finish, three big quilts tops and three charity quilts to quilt. That makes 9, oops I see three more UFO to finish.
O what beautiful quilting rooms pictured. If I give you a picture of mine, you will see baskets of- what else- fabric.
This week I finished the binding of two ten years old UFO quilt tops that I have been quilting on in the past tw…

I checked out your pictures and love them!! Nice job. I happened to notice you also did Pam Bono's "Old Bones" quilt. I have one on my web page, and actually made 2.
Thanks again Lynne
That sounds like a bad accident. I've been lucky all these years. Even driving in foreign countries I've only been in one accident, and that was 50 years ago.
I wish I had a quilting machine other than my Pfaff. I am no good at machine quilting, though I haven't tried one of the big ones. Our LQS rents time on theirs, but I am on the road so much that I haven't had time to get started!
I'm working on a Thimbleberries that I started at least 6 years ago! Just have 2 more borders to go. Maybe I will get it finished this week. Just had e-mail from my daughter and she may have to have hysterectomy in the next 2 weeks. I'll go up to help her as she is alone. Divorced, and kids grown and living away. I don't mind too much as I get a rest stop at Hancocks in Paducah!
After my uncle retired, they moved to Alpharetta where their sons were. He died in '88 I think. We moved to Thomasville when I was 10 and I grew up there, went to UGA, and married my Navy man!
Maryville is a great place to live except in October when we are covered with leaf viewers! We're about 15 miles south of Knoxville and 30 miles from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
My hand problem is from having no cartilage around the thumb joint. Either I wore it out or arthritis ate it! Anyway, I wore a brace from last April till September so I could delay surgery. But I had the surgery the first week of Sept. He took out one bone and pulled tendons down to fasten the other 2 together. I'm actually amazed that I can still move. I have one more month in therapy and hope to be back to normal. At least the Dr and the PT say I will be.
Meanwhile the fabric piles up and I'll have to live to 150 to finish it all.
Have you lived in GA all your life? I still have a cousin and a granddaughter in Atlanta. We considered going back there when DH retired, but we had lived in TN so long, it felt like home. We moved from Memphis to the mountains and really love it. That was 17 years ago. I can't believe it!
What are you working on now? I'm trying to finish a baby quilt, but can't get much of the embroidery done at a time. That hurts worse than anything! Thank goodness it's just a few accents on each square...eyes and mouths. It's for a boy and has snails and puppies and a frog.

Oh, good, I can really use the tips you left for me. I generally practice on some muslin to see what things work for me. Believe me, I am not interested in messing up this project. I have a Brother (4yrs old now) with lots of good things on it, the Model NX600, I believe. It has never given me a dime's worth of trouble. Is your brother on this site, too? Take care - I'm signing off for the night, talk to you soon.I just saw your smiling face on here and thought I'd say, hey. Hope all is well with you down in "JoJuh"... my sister lived in Georgia for 12 years. I loved visiting her when she was there. I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa, and moved with my hubby and family down here to Overland Park, Kansas. We absolutely love the Kansas City area! Well, enough chat for now. Need to get some "piecing" and sewing done on my older brother's lap quilt.

Hi Linda - So glad you found the KC Group interesting, we are a pretty new group. You certainly meet the requirements being such a long time resident in Independence and with family still here, too!Love your photo quilts!
By the way, I always feel close to parents of children with autism because I worked with children with autism for twelve years. Presently laid off though.
I will look forward to reading your blog! Bye for now...
