About Me
Lately I've made mostly scrappy quilts. Yet my scrap baskets are still overflowing, I don't understand how that happens.

I belong to a quilt group in Phoenix called Reap What You Sew. They distribute approx. 2500 quilts annually to various charities in the Phoenix area. I started a small chapter of RWYS at my church in Scottsdale. We take quilt tops that people make and put batting and backing to them and then tie them. When they are finished we return them to the main RWYS group for distribution in the fall. A friend has taken over since I moved to Ohio and she has done a great job. I love to see how the group has grown since I left when I visit each winter. Earlier this month (May 2013) I started an Ohio Chapter of RWYS. Started with 8 ladies and I learned there are 2-4 more ladies interested in comining next month. Best of all they all want to start sewing regardless of their level of skill. God is an awesome God.

My door always welcomes a fellow quilter!

Amish Country Retreat Aug.23 -26,2012

The retreat is over, but we all are planning for next year. We had a great time working on new projects and completing old UFOs. We developed new friendships and deepened old friendships.Friends stopped in to say hello and  folks staying in the hotel stopped by too. It was a great weekend. It was sad to say goodbye...but there's a little (maybe not so little) gremlin already at work for next year. Shhh..... it's still a secret until an announcement is made.

Happy quilting!

2013 Amish Retreat was Great!

I highly recommend the Rural Thimble by Miller's Dry Goods in Charm, OH for a quilt retreat. They thought of everything....about the only complaint was they needed some padding on the ironing boards. We had so much fun and if you ran out of something, all you had to do is run next door to Miller's and buy it plus they gave you a 10% discount the whole time we were there! Needless to say we ran in there quite a bit!!!

We surprised each other with gifts throughout the weekend and had…

Sneak Peak at Remodeled Sewing Room

Posted on March 17, 2013 at 2:00pm 14 Comments

The moment is almost here when I can finally move back into my sewing room.  Right now I can move in the Elna, but I'm trying to figure out a way to bring in the Pfaff too. I have a friend who comes over and sews strips and/or squares for me. I.m trying to figure out if the small table will fit and still give me enough room to move around without being too constricted. . Let me explain some of the changes. I've had new windows put in. They've already been tested thanks to Mother Nature; and…

Dear Linda - I'm so sorry that you have been so very sick. I've had pneumonia twice, and it takes a long time to get over it and feel like normal again. Thank you for your lovely comments about my quilt. Yes, it was a lot of work, but now I can put it behind me and move on to my next project. Let's all hope Spring comes soon - we need some warmth LOL - hugs, becky

Hi Linda - thank you for your nice compliments on my quilts. the two little girls in the photo are my great-nieces who live in maryland. Oh no, I am so sorry; that has to be miserable.  Rest, take care, and know you will be in my prayers.  If Christmas gifts don't get quite finished, wrap up an IOU and don't stress about it.  Your loved ones will understand.  I hope you feel better on Thursday so you can enjoy the holiday a little!

Good to hear from you.  I was thinking about you and Indie the other night when Ohio was having that terribly windy weather.  Hope that you are feeling better and that you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Hi Linda, so nice to hear from you.  Sounds like you have been a busy lady lately.  I have been busy myself.  This time of year is hectic.  I just got back from shopping. Had to get some fleece to make myself a bathrobe.  Our sewing workshop this month is making a bathrobe. I want to make mine before Saturday so I can help anyone who needs the help.  I'm going to cut the pattern pieces out tonight after supper.  It will only take me two or three hours (if that) to sew it up on my serger.  I love making clothes. I will pray that you CT scan will come out good.
