I love to make all types of quilts as well as admire the beautiful work of other talented and artistic quilters. I have won a couple of Blue Ribbons and one Grand Champion Quilt Ribbon at the Colorado State Fair. I prefer making old fashioned scrappy quilts rather than the current trend towards more artistic designs.
I am also a former professional "pets and their people" photographer. Currently working on creating a series of Louisiana Wildlife prints.

My pets are awesome!
Sable is our 6 year old Papillon and Houston is our newest addition to the family. He's a 2# Chihuahua (01-19-12) that runs Sable ragged!
My sewing room "was" my formal living room. I had my sewing room upstairs and loved it but when I retired and started doing alterations it was much easier to have it downstairs. I have a den so moved what I could in there and sold the rest to have my sewing room. I miss my piano but there just was no room for that in the den. I don't have a longarm. I have been dabbling in free motion quilting but have a ways to go before it's perfected. I'm having problems with keeping the speed just right to keep the stitches more uniform.
Your tree quilt is beautiful, I love the woodsy theme quilts. I see your from Colorado Springs. I have been there and actually had tears in my eyes when I looked up at that beautiful mountain range. My niece was living on the base there. They built a home in Fountain Col. after her husband retired from the Army. I live in a valley not far from the ocean but I love the mountains. They are so majestic.
Thank you for the comment on my bargello. No I wouldn't say it is difficult because it is all straight seams BUT it was time consuming. We used a flannel that had a grid printed on it to keep things straight. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for your kind comments regarding my mom...and for your compliments on my memory quilt. It was a very healing process and helped a lot I think. I noticed that you live in Colorado Springs? I'm just north of you a bit in Federal Heights...we're practically neighbors, so to speak! I too love paper piecing...I would enjoy viewing many more of your quilts once you get them posted...let's stay in touch? Have a great day!
Hi Linda, Thank you for the lovely comment on by pumpkin quilt - I really appreciate it. It is a grid pattern that I found at a quilt shop hop last summer. It is called Scrabble Jack and it is by . Happy Hollow Designs
It's been a while... My computer had a melt down. I'm quilting and getting ready for our Quilt Auction Nov. 6 at the Ute Pass Cultural Center 6:00 p to 9 p. Up here in Woodland Park, CO. It's the Decadent Desserts from our Quilt Table Cook book. Our group Quilters Above the Clouds, are putting it on to raise $ for the Advocacy Quilts for the kids in El Paso and Teller Counties.
If you are interested. We will have a live auction too. I hope that you and a friend could come. I will be helping out with the event. I'd love to meet you in person.I hope that you are busy quilting. I've got 7 quilts in que and hoping to get them all done for the auction. I will catch up with you after the event.
Take good care.
Thanks for the comment! I just made up the pattern for chili jar bags with a little trial and error, based on some other drawstring bags I had done in the past (with patterns). The jars were oddly sized, so I had to make them long and skinny!
I won't be responsible for the backing or the quilting... This quilt is for my long-arm quilter... she is getting this quilt top and I'm getting 5 quilts quilted... I think it is a fair trade!! But she will be doing the quilting on it...
