It came in the mail this moring. Yes the 1st month of Rainbow Jane is here!! I'm only a little bit excited. I also recieved a vintage Grandmohter's Garden quilt top. It's beautiful. Hand quilting I think is the way to go. Any ideas on how to go? I have read where some ladies quilt inside the hexagons and I like the look of this. Are there any other methods?

Happy Easter everyone! Hopefully there is much fun and frivolity being had by all. Maybe a little stitching as well?!

I have big plans for this break over easter. I want to catch up on a few things and maybe start one or two.

Things have been busy busy at work. I'm thinking that when I go back on tuesday we'll have an easier load. Yay to the end of hot cross buns! The last two days before Good Friday was mainly all about hot cross buns - more than 5600 of them on thursday alone!… Continue

Wow, what a great site! I could easily sit here all day and never get anything done! One of the lovely ladies over at myquiltblog.com mentioned that she had moved over here and to come and check it out. So glad I did! Thanks Molly!

A little about me - I am relatively new to quilting even though my mum has done it for years. So she is quiet happy that I've finally given in! I was blog hopping one day, as you do, and came across

If, you baste it really well, you don't need a hoop...it is worth basting heavily not to have to use a hoop...it's easier to transport. Good luck!

Hi Lise:
Welcome to the Quilt Frame. I noted that you are from "down under." And quite a few of our other quilters are as well. Sounds like the place to be. I did visit your blog and saw some of your very outstanding embroidery. Great Work! The closest I come to embroidery is stitching name, date and sometimes a bible verse on the back of a quilt. I do admire those who can "really" do it. I just hand quilt - that's enough for me. Again, welcome and so glad that you have decided to join us. Joyce

Good morning Lise-
When I did my grandmother's top...I quilted each hex...but not the connecting off white hexagons...It made them appear raised...I also did not bind the quilt...I hemmed it using what I call the envelope hemming turning front and back in and stitch...it's tricky but a nicer look.
